Finding a good used car on a $6,000 budget is complex, and not just because used car prices have risen a lot in the last few years. When you’re dealing with cars a decade old or older, factors like mileage and maintenance history can vary wildly from one vehicle to the next, making it hard to know what a good deal is, but also making it hard to know which cars will have some life left in them. That’s why getting a good inspection for any used car you’re considering buying is essential.
Here are 10 of the best used cars you’ll find on a $6,000 budget. We’ve provided a model year for each vehicle. Still, shoppers at this price point should view this as more of a guideline, with the importance placed on the condition and history of the specific vehicle they’re considering. The best values for this price range will be cars between 10 and 15 years old.
