The Cheapest New 3-Row SUVs for 2025

A good 3-row SUV is one of the most versatile, practical vehicles on the market today. It has capabilities that overlap the classic duties of minivans and wagons but with higher ride heights, better sight lines, and, in some cases, enhanced off-road ability. No matter what sort of affordable new 3-row SUV you’re after, there’s likely something that will appeal to you on this list, including a hybrid option, some rather rugged options, and some that are most at home in the suburbs and the city.

This is a list of the cheapest 3-row SUVs, so we’ve included destination pricing as part of the total in addition to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). Why? Because when you’re buying on a budget and every dollar counts, destination charges are part of the equation. They are built into the price, and they must be paid. Taxes, title, and licensing fees must also be paid but are not included because of their wide variance from region to region. Several of these SUVs have been known to appear on our monthly lists of the best SUV deals.

Here are the 15 cheapest new 3-row SUVs you’ll find in 2025.

1. 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander

2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in white.

Starting price: $30,075 ($28,395 MSRP + $185 Welcome Package + $1,495 destination fee)

The 7-seat 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander is one of the smallest SUVs with 3-row seating, but it’s also the most affordable, so it’s still a remarkable value. It hasn’t yet been updated for 2025. The Outlander’s strengths include lots of cargo space for the footprint, available all-wheel drive (AWD), and excellent warranty coverage. You might notice that the Outlander includes a $185 Welcome Package. It’s not optional; however, the Welcome Package contains a binder for the owner’s manuals, a console tray mat, carpeted floor mats, and a body-color touchup paint pen, a nice add-on. 2. 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan in white.

Starting price: $30,305 ($28,880 MSRP + $1,425 destination fee)

Like the Outlander, the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is a 7-passenger compact SUV, nearly matching the Mitsubishi on cargo volume and value but with a European look and feel. The Tiguan, likewise, hasn’t yet been updated for 2025. One caveat for winter weather states: You can’t get all-wheel drive (AWD) and 3-row seating in the same Tiguan. 3. 2025 Kia Sorento

2025 Kia Sorento on the road.

Starting price: $33,405 ($31,990 MSRP + $1,415 destination fee)

Updated last year with a new grille, new taillights, and a larger touchscreen display, the 2025 Kia Sorento has style and substance for an impressive overall SUV. More affordable and efficient than many larger 3-row SUVs, the Sorento is also a strong value, with lots of standard equipment. It’s also the least costly entry on our list of SUVs available with captain’s chairs. The base LX gets 7-passenger seating, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and more. 4. 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe

With an all-new design last year, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe remains a fresh take on the Santa Fe’s track record of family-oriented comfort and capability, as well as more tech and even better value. The boxy new design and roomier interior are just the tip of the iceberg. See 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe models for sale

5. 2025 Kia Telluride

Long recognized as one of the best values in its class, the 2025 Kia Telluride is an excellent all-around vehicle with lots to appeal to safety-oriented families and fun-focused adventurers alike. 6. 2025 Nissan Pathfinder

2025 Nissan Pathfinder in brown.

Starting price: $38,460 ($37,070 MSRP + $1,390 destination fee)

The Nissan Pathfinder’s rugged looks, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ award, and excellent towing ability prove it’s more than just three rows of seating for up to eight and practical transportation. How much towing ability? The Pathfinder leads its class with 6,000 pounds of towing capacity, with available 4-wheel drive (4WD) that also comes with seven driver-selectable modes. Last year, upgrades were made to the entry-level SE trim, including standard dual-zone climate control and second-row temperature control. See 2025 Hyundai Palisade models for sale

8. 2025 Mazda CX-90

 2025 Mazda CX-90 in maroon.

Starting price: $39,300 ($37,845 MSRP + $1,455 destination fee)

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 is a different option than most of the others on this list. It’s a 3-row SUV with seating for up to eight passengers, but rather than putting on off-road airs, the CX-90 leans into Mazda’s sporty image. The CX-90’s base 3.3 Turbo Select model is the thriftiest route, but all trims get three rows of seats. The 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus and Turbo S Premium Plus have the option of second-row captain’s chairs with a center console. See 2025 Mazda CX-90 models for sale

The 2025 Explorer ST-Line is the only trim that includes standard seating for seven, with the option of second-row captain’s chair seating for six occupants.
