Entry-level luxury doesn’t get much better than the 2022 Acura ILX. Maintaining a reputation for solid dependability and low cost to own, the ILX delivers Acura’s translation of luxury in a compact wrapper.
With a new-generation compact sedan expected for the 2023 model year, Acura tinkered little with the 2022 ILX.
Pitted against compact rivals like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, the ILX provides similar levels of luxury and performance. However, it does so while putting a smaller dent in your wallet.
We particularly like its high resale value, spunky 4-cylinder engine, and standard AcuraWatch driver aids.
Acura separates the ILX into four trim levels. The base ILX is the entry-level trim. What follows are three trim levels based on option packages tacked on to the ILX: ILX with Premium Package, ILX with Premium & A-Spec Packages, and ILX with Technology & A-Spec Packages.
Because the ascending ILX grades are constructed by adding option packages, Acura doesn’t offer additional options. However, a couple of dozen dealer-installed accessories are available.
Every ILX grade sources its thrust from a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. It generates 180 lb-ft of torque. Commanded by steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, an 8-speed automatic transmission ushers power to the front wheels.
Unlike some of its peers, the ILX doesn’t offer all-wheel drive (AWD).
Mileage is a government-estimated 24 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg in combined driving.
2022 Acura ILX (Starting at $26,500)
This may be the gateway ILX grade, but it boasts a comprehensive list of standard features. However, one content shortcoming is you must step up a grade to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, heated outboard mirrors, power moonroof, and keyless entry with push-button start.
Other standard gear includes 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Adding the $1,045 destination fee to the ILX base price brings the total to $27,545. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to a $495 monthly payment. See Acura ILX models for sale
