The 2022 Audi Q3 delivers all the styling and high-tech features of Audi’s larger luxury SUVs but in a pint-sized offering perfect for urban dwellers. The Q3 has a youthful appeal, evident by its bold paint color and wheel choices and seductive ambient interior lighting.
Offered in just two trims, each with an available engine upgrade, the Q3 packs quite a punch with available features like a digital instrument cluster, a premium audio system, and a full suite of advanced driver assists.

2022 Audi Q3 Premium (starting at $34,900)
The 2022 Audi Q3 Premium keeps the price below $35,000, but with options it has nearly the same price and content as the Premium Plus model.
For this reason, we recommend the Premium only to buyers who can live without features like navigation and upgraded audio or need to keep the price as low as possible.
A 184-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder powers the Q3 40. It is paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, allowing a 0 to 60 mph run of 8.7 seconds.
Spend a bit more for the Q3 45 ($37,200), and you’ll get the same setup but with 228 horsepower and a much quicker 0 to 60 mph time of 7 seconds flat.
The standard wheel and tire setup consist of 18-inch 5-spoke alloys wrapped in all-season rubber. The Q3’s power-operated outside mirrors are heated to tackle winter’s worst, and headlights and taillights are powered by LED bulbs.
On the side of comfort, the Q3 includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support. The tailgate is power-operated for easy use, and the roof plays home to a massive panoramic glass sunroof. The steering wheel both tilts and telescopes but requires manual operation. Cruise control, automatic headlights with auto high beams, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, and 3-zone automatic climate control also come at no added cost.
The Q3’s MIB3 infotainment system includes provisions for a Wi-Fi hotspot and runs through an 8.8-inch touch screen that can also accommodate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The screen also serves as the display for the standard rearview camera. Audi’s 10.25-inch digital display replaces the traditional analog gauge cluster but should not be confused with the Virtual Cockpit that only comes on the next level up.
Being an Audi, the Q3 comes loaded with advanced safety and driver-assist systems. Included in the Q3 Premium’s standard roster is low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, hill descent control, Audi pre-sense basic, Audi side assist blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and Audi parking system plus front and rear parking sensors.
Options for the Q3 Premium include the Convenience package that brings Audi Advanced Key proximity key fob and hands-free tailgate, power-folding exterior mirror with driver’s side auto-dimming, driver’s seat memory, HomeLink remote with garage door opener, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The only other options are 19-inch wheels and rear-seat side-impact airbags.
The more powerful Q3 45 offers the Black Optic Sport package touting S line sport front seats, plus blacked-out exterior trim and roof rails.

2022 Audi Q3 Premium includes:
- Auto high beam headlights — automatically illuminate in low-light situations but will dim when detecting oncoming traffic.
- Audi pre-sense basic — can detect if a front or rear collision is imminent and prepare the cockpit by tightening the seat belts, rising the windows, and closing the sunroof.
- Digital instrument cluster — employs a 10.25-inch display that mimics the look of traditional analog gauges.
- Panoramic sunroof — covers the first and second rows, allowing plenty of sunlight or, when opened, fresh air.
2022 Audi Q3 Premium Plus (starting at $38,200)
Considering the price spread between the Premium and Premium Plus is only $3,300, we’d say go big or go home. The Premium Plus brings so much more in the way of standard and optional equipment, including features one would expect of a luxury brand such as adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, auto headlight leveling, and rear fog lights.
The Premium Plus trim includes all the Premium’s Convenience package features, plus Audi Phone Box with cell phone signal amplification and a wireless charging pad.
The Premium Plus also comes with an LED interior light package allowing for up to 30 different colors and a 360-degree Top View camera.
However, what makes the Premium Plus the better buy is its superior options list, most of which are bundled into the Technology package. Check the box on this $2,700 option and you’ll get a 12.3-inch digital display (Virtual Cockpit), a 10.1-inch MMI touch screen with handwriting recognition, navigation, Audi Connect services, wireless Apple CarPlay, traffic sign recognition, and 680-watt/15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Like the Premium, the Q3 45 Premium Plus ($40,500) can be upgraded with the more powerful engine and the Black Optic Sport package.
