In a nutshell, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid is everything the regular CR-V is and a little more.
A little more arrives in the form of power and fuel economy.
It packs 22 more ponies and another 53 lb-ft of torque than the gasoline-fueled CR-V.
Then the CR-V Hybrid really rubs it in by delivering 9 mpg more in combined driving than its gasoline-only AWD sibling.
We are big fans of the 5-passenger CR-V’s interior room, easy-to-live-with, carlike manners, and its impressive amount of technology.
Our one-and-only gripe is that its infotainment interface isn’t as up-to-date as others in the segment.
On the plus side, the Honda Sensing suite of driver aids is standard for every grade.
Among the CR-V Hybrid’s closest rivals are the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Ford Escape Hybrid.
Its thrust comes from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors. An automatic transmission whisks power to all the wheels (AWD).
Government estimates place the fuel economy at 40 mpg city, 35 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined.
Honda offers the CR-V Hybrid in EX, EX-L, and Touring grades.
2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid EX (starting at $31,610)
Hardly an entry-level grade, the EX is the middle grade of the five trim levels for the regular CR-V.
In its role as the base-level of the Hybrid, it comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, remote start, keyless entry, heated power outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a power moonroof.
Also included are LED fog lights, LED headlights with auto on-off, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a 12-way power driver’s seat.
Its infotainment features include a 7-inch touchscreen, an 8-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite-radio capability, HD radio, Bluetooth, and USB ports.
Among its driver aids are those listed in the Honda Sensing suite. They include forward-collision warning with auto emergency braking, lane-departure warning with steering assist, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
High-beam assist and blind-spot monitoring are also standard.
We’d be quite satisfied with the Hybrid EX. It’s a solid mix of standard content at a reasonable price.

2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid EX includes:

To the EX content, the EX-L adds a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 4-way power front-passenger seat, and leather seating.

2022 Honda Hybrid CR-V Hybrid Touring includes:
