For 2022, the Jaguar I-Pace electric vehicle builds on its reputation as a stylish, performance-oriented crossover.
Improvements to the Jaguar’s infotainment system and its charging system, plus other interior convenience refinements, help the I-Pace to compete with EV rivals such as the Audi e-tron and Tesla Model X.
One appealing aspect of I-Pace ownership is Jaguar’s generous warranty, which covers the vehicle for 5 years/60,000 miles and includes maintenance. The battery is warranted for 8 years/100,000 miles.
2022 Jaguar I-Pace HSE (starting at $69,900)
Jaguar focuses attention on the formerly range-topping I-Pace HSE trim this model year, dropping the previous S and SE grades. The good news is that the HSE price is down a whopping $11,000 from 2021.
As befits the flagship trim, the 5-seat HSE comes with an impressive standard equipment list, although there are still a few options and packages available.
Powered by a 90-kWh battery pack, the I-Pace sports two electric motors, one at each axle, making this Jaguar an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle. With a total of 394 horsepower on tap, the I-Pace is quick off the mark, topping 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Wheel size is 20 inches.
While the EPA has yet to rate the 2022 I-Pace as of this writing, the 2021 model was rated at 234 miles per charge. The 2022 Jaguar I-Pace now has a more powerful 11-kW onboard charger (up from 7 kW). Connecting to a 100-kW charging source can add 63 miles of range in 15 minutes, according to Jaguar. A full battery recharge on a standard 240-volt household outlet will take 8.6 hours, down four hours from the previous system.
Outside, the HSE comes with power folding door mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, power liftgate, panoramic sunroof, gloss-black grille and door trim, plus a front storage compartment.
The I-Pace interior is finely finished with leather-trimmed seats (heated and cooled front, heated rear), leather-wrapped steering wheel, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat, and dual-zone climate control.
Also included are a Meridian high-end audio system, adaptive cruise control, and head-up display. Multiple dashboard screens include a 12.3-inch driver display, 10-inch touchscreen with improved Pivi Pro infotainment system, and a smaller 5-inch touchscreen in the center console.
The impressive safety system suite incudes emergency braking, blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, front/rear parking aids, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive speed limiter.
Among the option packs are a park assist system that includes a 3D surround camera, for $900. The camera can also be optioned on its own for $700.
A $550 cold climate pack adds a heated steering wheel, heated windshield, and heated washer jets.
An adaptive dynamics options for $700 allows the driver to configure the vehicle’s suspension and other handling elements.
For $800, the climate control can be ungraded to a 4-zone system. Wireless charging is available for $350 and Jaguar’s “clearsight” camera-based rearview mirror can be optioned for $450.
Adding in the $1,150 destination fee, the Jaguar I-Pace HSE sticker comes to $71,050. Given 3% financing over 60 months and no down payment, that would produce a monthly payment of $1,220. Find a 2022 Jaguar I-Pace HSE for sale
