The 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a midsize luxury sedan with a reputation for power, elegance, safety, comfort, and versatility. For the 2022 model year, Mercedes’ long-running nameplate remains relatively unchanged following last year’s refresh to the cabin, exterior, and infotainment system.
Automatic high-beam headlights are now standard on all E-Class sedans, and one new color (Nautical Blue Metallic) is available.
While the sedan is the most well-known variant, the E-Class is offered as a coupe, convertible, and station wagon, too. This gives luxury-car shoppers a choice between a dash more style, open-air thrills, or a roomier cargo area for hauling lots of stuff.
For simplicity, we’ll focus on the primary trims and powertrains offered in the 4-door version of this German luxury car. For reference, rivals to the 2022 E-Class include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Lexus ES, Acura TLX, and Cadillac CT5.

Moving to the interior, cabin upgrades include Nappa leather seating surfaces, heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, massaging front seats, power rear sunshade, wireless smartphone charging, two USB-C ports for the rear seat, combination wood-and-leather steering wheel, and about six choices of wood trim.
