Since we know all three body styles come with the same turbo 3-cylinder engine and choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission (a $1,500 option across all models), let’s focus on the three main trims: Classic, Signature, and Iconic.
Standard features on the Cooper Hardtop, 4-Door, and Convertible include safety items like automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
Inside, you’ll find synthetic leather upholstery, 6-speaker audio system, 8.8-inch infotainment screen, satellite radio (w/free 12-month subscription), and single USB outlet. The Cooper Classic trim rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and is available in four choices of exterior color.
Stepping up to the Signature trim brings with it a wider range of exterior colors and cosmetic addendum (such as contrasting roof colors and various racing stripes). The Cooper S 4-Door is slightly pricier; the Classic, Signature, and Iconic trims ring in at $27,900, $31,900, and $35,900. True to form, having limitless headroom commands the highest fee. The Cooper S Convertible ranges from $31,900 (Classic), $35,900 (Signature), and $39,400 (Iconic).
A new Mini Brick Lane Edition, inspired by London’s lively East End, makes its debut in 2022 with a lively exterior that features a White Silver Metallic body, a blue roof, and a graphic strip on the hood. As a Cooper S Hardtop 2-Door, the Brick Lane starts at $35,675. As a Cooper S Hardtop 4-Door, it begins at $36,675.
What held in terms of standard and optional features in the base Cooper remains mostly true in the Cooper S models. One notable difference is the standard fitment of 16-inch alloy wheels. Unfortunately, the Cooper 4-Door is not offered with the 228-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder; it tops out in mid-level Cooper S trim.
In the Cooper 2-Door and Convertible JCW models, a 6-speed manual serves as the standard gearbox, while an 8-speed automatic is optional for an extra $1,500.
In terms of sheer performance, a Mini Cooper 2-Door JCW sprints from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, versus 7.6 seconds in the base Cooper 2-Door. This added performance does come at a higher price, of course.
The Mini Cooper JCW Hardtop in Classic, Iconic, and Signature trims costs $32,900, $35,900, and $39,900. While the entertainment value of the Mini Cooper is unquestionable, this is a hefty amount of money for a pint-sized city car.
For JCW levels of acceleration and drop-top thrills, the Mini Cooper JCW Convertible is priced at $38,900, $40,650, and $44,900 across all trims.
What does a Mini Cooper JCW get in addition to more horsepower and faster acceleration? To start, the JCW in Classic trim comes fitted with JCW-specific 17-inch alloy wheels, a more aggressive gloss-black front grille, and larger front brake intakes, plus Mini’s Carbon Black Dinamica and cloth-trimmed sport seats.
With the JCW Iconic, you get additional features such as more exterior color choices, heated front seats, ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, and adaptive dampers. This last feature helps tame the Mini JCW’s hard ride, which some car shoppers might find too firm for day-to-day driving (especially over rough pavement and potholes).

So, if you need a small city-centric car that’s agile and fun to drive, the Cooper SE could be worth a look.
Unlike the gas-powered Mini range, the trim levels are broken down into Signature, Signature Plus, and Iconic trim levels. Standard features on the entry-level Cooper SE include heated front seats, LED headlights with cornering lights, heated steering wheel, and black leatherette seating surfaces.
The Signature Plus and Iconic trims start at $33,900 and $36,900, respectively. Like the rest of the Mini Cooper lineup, moving up trim levels brings more choice in exterior colors, cabin trim, contrasting roof colors, alloy wheels, and racing stripes.
