Nissan made no changes to the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport.
Competing with other small crossovers like the Kia Seltos and Jeep Compass, Rogue Sport plays Mini-Me to the somewhat larger Rogue. That is, it looks like a smaller Rogue.
We suspect Nissan didn’t fuss over the 2022 edition because the next-generation Rogue Sport is in the pipeline, likely landing in 2023.
Although we think the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is a bit anemic, we like Rogue Sport for its affordable pricing and impressive array of driver aids.
We believe Rogue Sport is a solid value in the small SUV arena.
Nissan separates Rogue Sport into S, SV, and SL grades.
A 141-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine delivers its output to the front wheels (FWD) via an automatic transmission. You may add all-wheel drive (AWD) to any trim level for $1,500.
According to government estimates, mileage is 25 mpg
in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg in combined driving with FWD. Opting for AWD barely reduces the numbers to 24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 27 mpg combined.
2022 Nissan Rogue Sport S (starting at $24,260)
The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport S starts at $24,260.
Standard are 17-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lights (auto on-off headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights), and air conditioning.
Also included are a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cruise control, and cloth seats.
Infotainment features are a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4-speaker audio system, a USB port, Bluetooth, and hands-free texting. Satellite-radio capability, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are also standard.
The driver aids are forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning with intervention. Blind-spot monitoring, rear-park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic rear braking are included.
Nissan doesn’t offer any factory-installed options for the S.

2022 Nissan Rogue Sport S includes:
- LED exterior lighting – This includes headlights with auto on-off, taillights, and daytime running lights (DRLs). LEDs illuminate a wider and longer area than regular incandescent lights. That means they are also easier for other drivers to see.
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – Allows your smartphone to interface with your vehicle. Not only can you access the music on your phone, but you can also send messages, receive messages, make calls, and so forth through your vehicle’s media system.
- Driver aids – Among these safety features are forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
2022 Nissan Rogue Sport SV (starting at $25,830)
The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport SL starts at $28,890.
SV adds to S with heated outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, fog lights, roof rails, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Other standard features are dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, and remote start.
An 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a 6-speaker audio system are also included.
For another $1,850, you may add the SV Technology Package. It gains you leather/faux leather seating, memory for driver’s seat and outboard mirrors, and a surround-view camera. Adaptive cruise control and Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous driver assistance system are also part of the package.

2022 Nissan Rogue Sport SV includes:
- Dual-zone automatic climate control – A set-it-and-forget-it system, it divides the vehicle into left and right regions. It provides separate temperature settings for each region. Once set, it automatically maintains the preset temperatures.
- Keyless entry – If the key fob is on your person, the doors automatically unlock when you touch the door handle. Push-button start is paired with keyless entry.
- Mirrors with integrated turn signals – These are power outboard mirrors with turn-signal repeaters installed on their outer shell. They are also heated.

To the SV, SL adds the SV Technology package, 19-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, Nissan Connect, and traffic-sign recognition.
