Finding a more compelling compact luxury SUV than the 2023 Acura RDX is tough. It’s spot-on for size, power, and technology. Acura didn’t get carried away with adding new features this year, but the 2023 RDX now comes standard with AcuraLink services and two years of free maintenance.
Beyond that, the RDX dazzles with many features and technologies. We like this Acura for its roomy interior, enviable safety scores, and gutsy engine. Furthermore, it’s attractively priced.
Acura offers the RDX in five trims: RDX, RDX Technology Package, RDX A-Spec, RDX Advanced, and RDX A-Spec Advanced. The bottom three trims are standard with front-wheel drive (FWD). For a $2,200 upcharge, you can add all-wheel drive (AWD) to the bottom three trims. The RDX with Advanced Package and the RDX A-Spec with Advance Package come standard with AWD.
Acura outfits the RDX with one engine. It’s a 272-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that teams with a 10-speed automatic transmission. With FWD, the 2023 RDX is rated by the EPA at 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. Stepping up to the AWD drops those numbers by one mpg.
The Acura RDX has about average resale value. Compare the RDX with the Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50, Cadillac XT4, Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, and other compact luxury crossover SUVs.
Here’s how the Acura RDX trims shake out.
