2023 Audi e-tron GT: Choosing the Right Trim

What’s not to love about the 2023 Audi e-tron GT? It produces zero emissions, can comfortably seat four, looks like a cross between Darth Vader and an F1 supercar, and can accelerate to 60 mph in less than four seconds.

The e-tron GT, and its hyperactive cousin, the RS e-tron GT, are priced in line with competitors like the Tesla Model S, Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+, and Lucid Air but cost more than a base Porsche Taycan. However, all but the Porsche can easily surpass the e-tron GT’s modest 240-mile range, something to consider if you have long commutes.

2023 Audi e-tron GT Premium Plus (starting at $104,900)

Befitting its electric supercar status, the e-tron GT gives a pass to the entry-level Premium trim and jumps right to Premium Plus.

The 800-volt powertrain and 93-kWh battery produce 522 horsepower. Two electric motors, one at the back and one up front, create the means for the quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) system, while a unique 2-speed automatic transmission includes a first gear to ensure ultra-quick acceleration from a stop. New this year is a second charge port placed on the passenger side.

As expected of Audi, the e-tron GT comes standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, intersection assist, and rear cross-traffic detection with emergency braking.

Additional driver aids include automatic high-beam headlights, a blind-spot monitor, a rearview camera, traffic sign recognition, and front and rear parking sensors. Cruise control comes standard, but an adaptive system is an extra-cost option.

The e-tron GT gets Audi’s multi-talented Matrix Design LED headlights. They use advanced light technology that allows the beam to adjust for range or width and point into turns.

The Advanced Key keyless entry system requires only having the key fob in your purse or pocket to unlock the doors and start the car.

Power-folding heated side mirrors with an auto-dimming feature, 20-inch alloy wheels with lockable wheel bolts, a panoramic fixed glass roof, and an adaptive air suspension round out the e-tron GT’s exterior features.

The e-tron’s cabin is inviting, with 14-way power and heated sport front seats, a power tilt/telescoping Alcantara-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, and leatherette and Dinamica (faux suede) upholstery.

Rear seat side airbags come standard, as does a 3-zone climate control system with a rear seat control panel and pre-conditioning settings that can cool or heat the vehicle before you get in.

The e-tron GT’s dash is entirely digital, showing off Audi’s Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, haptic digital climate controls, and an MMI infotainment system featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen interface that understands voice prompts, too.

Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto let you bring your favorite apps, music, and navigation along for the ride, all played through a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system.

Optional packages for the Premium Plus include the Executive Package, which adds adaptive cruise control, heated rear seats, and LED ambient lighting.

The Performance Package brings 20-inch double-spoke wheels with summer tires, e-torque vectoring plus, headlight and taillight animation, HD Matrix Design LED headlights with Audi laser light, rear-wheel steering, and black exterior styling elements.

Premium Plus buyers can also upgrade to the Full Leather Interior Package, which includes Nappa leather upholstery, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and massaging sport seats with ventilation and pneumatic leg and side bolsters. Leather also covers the dash, door cards, and center console.

With the $1,495 destination fee, the 2023 Audi e-tron GT Premium Plus costs $106,395. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $1,912. See 2023 Audi e-Tron GT Premium Plus models for sale

2023 Audi e-tron GT Premium Plus includes:

  • 14-way power sport seats – These provide excellent support during spirited drives, with numerous possible adjustments to help find the perfect driving position.
  • Intersection Assist – This system uses cameras and forward sensors to watch for vehicles about to cross in front of the car, warning the driver and activating the brakes to avoid a collision.
  • Bang & Olufsen 3D audio – With 710 watts pumping through 16 strategically placed speakers, this will impress even the most demanding audiophile.

2023 Audi e-tron GT Prestige (starting at $111,300)

Although not a great leap over the features found in the Premium Plus with the Executive package, the Prestige gains a color head-up display, a 360-degree top-view camera, dual-pane acoustic front door glass, and illuminated door sill inlays.

Also included is Audi’s Remote Park Assist Plus system that can automatically parallel park the e-tron GT with minimal driver input.

With the $1,495 destination fee, the 2023 Audi e-tron GT Prestige costs $112,795. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $2,027. See 2023 Audi e-Tron GT Prestige models for sale

2023 Audi e-tron GT Prestige includes:

  • Top-view camera – With multiple cameras positioned around the e-tron GT, the system creates a virtual image of the car in relation to its surroundings, showing the driver a 360-degree view outside the vehicle.
  • Head-up display – Pertinent driver and navigation information is projected onto the windshield, allowing e-tron GT drivers to keep their eyes focused on the road.
  • Remote Park Assist Plus – This intelligent parking system steers the e-tron GT into a parallel parking space. If standing outside the vehicle, the driver can summon the car to pull forward, a helpful feature when adjacent cars make opening the door nearly impossible.

2023 Audi RS e-tron GT (starting at $143,900)

The RS is the high-performance e-tron GT variant. It uses the same dual synchronous electric motors and 93-kWh battery but produces 637 hp and a 0-60 mph sprint of 3.1 seconds.

The RS includes all the features found on the Prestige, minus the fixed glass roof, which is optional.

The RS then adds unique exterior styling elements such as carbon-fiber trim, Carbon Atlas matte inlays, 20-inch 5-spoke aero modular design wheels, a carbon-fiber roof panel, and Tungsten Carbide coated brake discs with orange calipers.

In addition to the Full Leather Interior Package, the RS offers the Carbon Performance Package, which adds carbon-fiber accents, animation for the headlights and taillights, rear-wheel steering, power steering plus, and HD Matrix Design LED headlights with Audi laser light.

A Ceramic Brake Package adds 21-inch alloy wheels and ceramic brake discs with Anthracite Gray calipers.

With the $1,495 destination fee, the 2023 Audi RS e-tron GT costs $145,395. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to approximately $2,613. See 2023 Audi RS e-Tron GT models for sale

2023 Audi RS e-tron GT includes:

  • E-torque vectoring – Distributes torque to the wheel with the best traction, a big help when cornering at high speeds.
  • Available rear wheel steering – Reduces the RS’s turning circle and provides rapid adjustments with only the slightest steering wheel input.
  • Available ceramic disc brakes – These improve stopping power and brake performance, plus they last longer than traditional steel rotors.

FAQ

  • What is the best 2023 Audi e-tron GT trim?

The Audi RS e-tron is the performance choice, but it comes with a steep price tag. We’d take the Prestige model with the Performance Package and Full Leather interior, then call it a day.

  • How long does it take to charge a 2023 Audi e-tron GT?

Using a DC fast charging station, the 2023 Audi e-tron GT needs only about 22 minutes to go from a 5% charge to 80%. Plugging in at home with a Level II charger increases charging time to around 10 hours.

  • Which 2023 Audi e-tron GT trim level offers the most safety?

Given its low production numbers, no agency has crash-tested the e-tron GT yet. However, other e-tron vehicles like the SUV and e-tron Sportback perform exceptionally well in both government and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests, making us reasonably confident the e-tron GT will also.

We’d upgrade to adaptive cruise control, which includes features like lane-keep and semi-autonomous driving.
