In the world of performance sedans, only a handful can excite the way the 2023 Infiniti Q50 does. In its base trim, it’s a luxury car with razor-sharp handling and a potent 300-horsepower V6 engine every bit the equal of the Acura TLX, Lexus IS, and Genesis G70. At the top, the Red Sport 400 gives the BWM M3 and Audi S4 a run for their money, with a 400-hp engine and available all-wheel drive (AWD). The Luxe and Sensory trims offer the latter for an additional $2,000.
In a nod to simplicity, Infiniti offers few options and only one package in the 2023 Q50.
2023 Infiniti Q50 Luxe (starting at $42,650)
The first in the Q50 line is the Luxe, an impressively well-equipped trim lacking only a few features in the more expensive Sensory trim.
Handsome 18-inch alloy wheels are fitted with run-flat tires, eliminating the need for a spare tire. Also standard are automatic LED headlights, LED fog lights, and power-folding heated side mirrors with a tilt-down feature when the car’s in reverse.
An acoustic windshield helps keep the cabin quiet, while speed and rain-sensing wipers help clear the forward view. A power moonroof lets in more light and fresh air.
The Luxe includes Infiniti’s Intelligent Key keyless entry system that uses a proximity key fob to allow locking and unlocking the doors by touching the handle. Once inside, a push of a button is all that is needed to start the Q50.
Despite its entry-level status, the Luxe interior is quite posh. Where many competitors offer leather as an option, Infiniti makes it standard, augmented with aluminum accent trim. For 2023, buyers can order the Luxe with Saddle Brown leather upholstery.
The Luxe provides heated 8-way power front seats with driver’s seat memory and 2-way power lumbar support. Another unexpected touch is a leather-wrapped power-adjustable heated steering wheel with controls for the cruise, audio, and infotainment system.
Dual-zone automatic climate control, electroluminescent gauges, rear seat air vents, and one-touch up/down power windows complete the interior highlights.
A dual LED touchscreen setup controls the Q50’s climate and infotainment system. The 8-inch upper screen displays the audio, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and the 360-degree Around View monitor. SiriusXM satellite radio comes standard, as does streaming Bluetooth and the ability to speak specific commands.
A smaller 7-inch touchscreen for the climate controls and vehicle information is just below the infotainment screen. Infiniti wisely provides secondary hard buttons for things like heated seats, climate control, and audio volume.
Speaking of volume, if you like it loud, you’ll enjoy the standard 16-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound system.
One oversight in an otherwise excellent cabin is the lack of USB ports for the rear-seat passengers. Fortunately, you can order them as a dealer-installed accessory.
Last but not least, we come to the Q50’s standard driver-assist systems. Like its cabin content, the Luxe doesn’t skimp on safety features. The mix includes automatic high-beam headlights, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, rear automatic emergency braking, and a blind-spot monitor with intervention.
Additional features include lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with full-speed range and stop-and-go ability.
With the $1,075 destination fee, the 2023 Infiniti Q50 Luxe costs $43,725. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $786. See 2023 Infiniti Q50 Luxe models for sale near you

The Red Sport’s cabin boasts semi-aniline quilted leather sport seats featuring driver’s seat power side bolsters and manual extendable thigh support.

Graphite Shadow is the standard color on the Red Sport 400; all other hues cost extra. One of our favorites is Dynamic Sunstone Red, which looks especially sharp and adds $900 to the tally.
