Apart from new wheel designs and Amazon Alexa becoming standard on upper trims, the 2023 Jaguar F-Pace returns with few changes. Jaguar has added adaptive cruise control with full stop-and-go to the P250 S and P400 R-Dynamic S grades. Gone from the grade lineup is the P340 S with its 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder mild-hybrid (MHEV) engine.
There is much to like about the F-Pace. We appreciate its impressive handling, compelling personality, standard all-wheel drive (AWD), and three powertrains. Also remarkable is its 5-year or 60,000-mile complimentary maintenance warranty.
Rivals lining up against the F-Pace include the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.
Four trim levels comprise the F-Pace lineup: the base F-Pace P250, P250 S, P400 R-Dynamic S, and the P550 SVR.
Jaguar uses three powertrains to motivate the F-Pace. The lineup consists of a turbocharged 4-cylinder, a turbocharged-and-supercharged mild-hybrid (MHEV) inline 6-cylinder, and a supercharged V8.
Every powertrain comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and JaguarDrive Control with four drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, and Rain/Ice/Snow.
2023 Jaguar F-Pace P250
(starting at $52,400, estimated)
Standard in the P250 F-Pace and the P250 S is a 246-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This model’s EPA fuel economy estimates are 22 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg in combined driving.
The P250 may be the entry-level F-Pace, but Jaguar loads it with plenty of driver aids and convenience features. They include 19-inch alloy wheels, hill-start assist, LED headlights and taillights, a power panoramic roof, and rain-sensing wipers.
Also standard are faux leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated power-folding outboard mirrors, and 12-way power-adjustable front seats. Dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, and a 7-inch driver-information display are included. Cruise control, a power rear liftgate, and wireless phone charging add to the standard fare.
Keeping passengers entertained and in touch is an infotainment system with an 11.4-inch touchscreen and a 14-speaker Meridian audio system. Also included are satellite-radio capability, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Safety takes a front seat in the F-Pace. Every grade provides forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and high-beam assist. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-park assist, and a driver-alert warning are also standard.
Jaguar doesn’t offer much in factory options for the P250.
Adding the $1,150 destination fee to the P250 base price totals an estimated $53,550. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to about $962 per month. See 2023 Jaguar F-Pace P250 models for sale
2023 Jaguar F-Pace P250 includes:
Auto-dimming rearview mirror – Using photosensors, it recognizes bright headlights closing from behind. It then automatically dims the reflection of those lights.
Proximity keyless entry – If the key fob is on your person, the doors automatically unlock when you touch the door handle. Push-button start pairs with keyless entry.
Suite of driver aids – Includes forward-collision warning with emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane-changing assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist.
2023 Jaguar F-Pace P250 S
(starting at $56,000, estimated)
The same turbocharged 4-cylinder engine powers the P250 and P250 S. Building on the P250, the P250 S adds leather seating, heated front seats, and adaptive cruise control. Also included is a more powerful infotainment interface, traffic-sign recognition, and Adaptive Speed Limiter.
Jaguar offers three option packages worth noting. The first is the Dynamic Handling Pack with Configurable Dynamics, Adaptive Dynamics, and red brake calipers. Configurable Dynamics allows the driver to set the driving characteristics, while Adaptive Dynamics is basically an adaptive suspension.
The Convenience Pack provides a hands-free power rear liftgate, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and more power ports. Adding the Cold Climate Pack gains a heated windshield, headlight power washers, and a heated steering wheel.
Adding the destination fee to the P250 S base price brings the total to an estimated $57,150. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out to a payment of about $1,027 per month. See 2023 Jaguar P250 S models for sale
2023 Jaguar F-Pace P250 S includes:
Adaptive cruise control – Once you’ve engaged the system and set the speed, it maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front, braking and accelerating as needed. The F-Pace system will bring the vehicle to a complete stop and then accelerate when traffic moves again.
Traffic-sign recognition – A front-pointing camera captures images of traffic signs along the road. It matches these images with those in its database. When it recognizes a critical sign, such as Stop, Yield, Speed Limit, and so forth, it flashes the information on one of the vehicle’s displays.
Adaptive Speed Limiter – This system automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to accommodate changing posted speed limits.
2023 Jaguar F-Pace P400 R-Dynamic S (starting at $64,800, estimated)
The P400 R-Dynamic S sources its thrust from a 395-hp 3.0-liter turbocharged-and-supercharged MHEV inline 6-cylinder engine. The electric segment of this powertrain is a 48-volt electric motor. This Jaguar’s estimated EPA fuel economy is 19 mpg city/26 mpg highway/22 mpg combined.
Other than the engine upgrade, there isn’t any real content change from the P250 S. R-Dynamic is an appearance package with unique appearance elements inside and out.
Adding the destination fee to the P400 R-Dynamic S base price brings the total to an estimated $65,950. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out to a payment of about $1,185 per month. See 2023 Jaguar F-Pace P400 R-Dynamic S models for sale
2023 Jaguar P550 SVR
(starting at $89,500, estimated)
Jaguar stuffs a 542-hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under the hood of the SVR. It makes 516 lb-ft of torque. Its EPA mileage numbers are 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway/17 mpg combined.
Building on the P250 S, the SVR adds 21-inch alloy wheels, Windsor leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts, and heated-ventilated 14-way power-adjustable front seats. Surround-view camera – It provides a 360-degree bird’s-eye view around the vehicle. This perspective is particularly valuable when parking.
Power-adjustable steering wheel – Changing the height and distance of the steering wheel is as easy as pressing a button. The steering wheel is heated, as well.
Steering assist – Incorporated into the adaptive cruise control system, it allows the system to steer, brake, and accelerate the vehicle in certain limited conditions.
