Because the Lexus LX 600 was an all-new model for 2022, little has changed with this big SUV for the 2023 model year. As such, the big Lexus LX remains a tough body-on-frame SUV that exudes luxury. It’s related to the current Toyota Land Cruiser, which Toyota does not sell in the U.S.
Power comes from a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 that sends 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system with low-range gearing. Maximum tow capacity is 8,000 pounds. EPA fuel economy ratings are 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway/19 mpg combined for the Lexus LX 600.
As in 2022, you can get your Lexus LX 600 as a 5-seater, a 7-seater, or a 4-seater. Natural competitors include the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and, to a lesser extent, the Infiniti QX80.
We like the big 2023 Lexus LX 600 for its upscale cabin, tremendous technical suite, impressive off-road capabilities, and benchmark build quality.
Five trim configurations remain available: the LX 600, the LX600 Premium, the LX600 F Sport Handling, the LX 600 Luxury, and the LX 600 Ultra Luxury.
For clarity: The base LX600 seats five. The Premium, F Sport Handling, and Luxury seat seven in a 2-3-2 configuration with a power-folding third-row seat. The LX 600 Ultra Luxury seats only four, with second-row captain’s chairs that rival first-class airline travel, replete with a center armrest and a table.
Off-roaders, take note: All 2023 LX 600s have the Multi-Terrain Select System, which provides the following off-road driving modes: Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock. They also come with Crawl Control, which lets the LX tackle rock-strewn roads at a slow but steady pace, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor, which provides views under and around the vehicle while on the trail.
Let’s explore the five available trim levels for the 2023 Lexus LX600.
2023 Lexus LX 600: $89,160
There’s nothing entry-level about the basic LX 600. It counts among its standard features 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, headlight washers, a windshield-wiper de-icer, a power rear liftgate, and a power moonroof.
It’s a 5-passenger SUV with supple leather upholstery and power front seats. Because there’s no third-row seat, the cargo volume in the back is generous.
Other standard hardware on the entry-level LX includes a leather-wrapped heated power-adjustable steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated outboard mirrors, and a HomeLink transceiver. Quad-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and four USB ports also are standard.
The infotainment system features a landscape-oriented 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted high atop the center stack, complemented by a 7-inch touchscreen and a 10-speaker audio system.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, as are satellite radio, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. And, yes, adaptive cruise control also is standard, along with high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a parking assist program.
On the safety front, the LX 600 benefits from a safety suite called Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which employs advanced radar and camera capabilities. In addition to a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, you get a lane-departure warning (with steering assist), road-sign assist, left-turn intersection support, and rear cross-traffic alert.
While Lexus doesn’t provide factory-installed option packages for the base LX 600, several available accessories exist, including all-weather cargo mats, roof-rack cross bars, wheel locks, etc.
With the $1,345 delivery charge already figured into the price, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 costs $89,160. If you put no money down and finance that amount for 60 months at 3% interest, it works out to approximately $1,602 per month. See 2023 Lexus LX 600 models for sale near you

- Hands-free power liftgate – With your arms full of groceries, you can swipe your foot under the rear bumper to automatically open the LX 600 Premium’s liftgate.
2023 Lexus LX 600 F Sport Handling: $103,370
The F Sport grade is basically an LX 600 Premium with some performance and aesthetic modifications.
On the performance front, the Lexus LX 600 F Sport Handling gets sport-tuned suspension with firmer shock absorption and a rear anti-roll bar. It also gets a limited-slip rear differential, which aids rear grip when accelerating aggressively out of tight corners. The F Sport Handling also gets forged 22-inch alloy wheels in an attractive dark gray.
Cosmetic touches include F Sport badges on the front fenders, plus unique front and rear bumpers. Inside, the F Sport treatment appears in the supple semi-aniline seat leather, the perforated leather trim on the steering wheel, and the F Sport aluminum pedal covers.
Individual options are highlighted by the Active Height Control suspension and the powerful 25-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system.
Active Height Control provides three different ride heights while the LX 600 is in motion and has a low setting when stopped for easier passenger ingress and egress.

- F Sport suspension – With firm dampers and a rear anti-roll bar, this suspension helps to keep the LX 600 well-controlled on twisty roads.

- Cool Box – This box, in the center console and under the armrest, is a great place to keep a few beverages chilled.
2023 Lexus LX 600 Luxury: $105,110
The 2023 Lexus LX 600 Luxury is much like an LX 600 Premium with several other features, including the Cool Box.
One of the most appreciated features in the 7-seat LX 600 Luxury is the one-touch auto-arrange power-folding seats. With the press of a single button, both back rows fold flat to turn this LX into the world’s most luxurious cargo van.
Other nice touches on the LX 600 Luxury include 22-inch forged alloy wheels (in a machined finish), semi-aniline leather upholstery, vented second-row outboard seats, and the 25-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
Also notable: The LX 600 Luxury has illuminated door sills and soft-close doors that automatically cinch tight.
Options include the blacked-out Appearance Package, Active Height Control, and a rear-seat entertainment system (with dual 11.4-inch screens). Note: If you order your LX 600 Luxury with the Appearance Package, it comes with 18-inch matte-gray alloy wheels, not the usual 22s.

- Mark Levinson audio system – This 2,400-watt surround-sound audio system, with 25 speakers, is better than most of us have in our homes.
2023 Lexus LX 600 Ultra Luxury: $129,250
The LX 600 Ultra Luxury is aptly named.
It’s the most opulent LX available. It loses the third-row seat and replaces the second-row bench with a pair of captain’s chairs flanking a center armrest and table. Besides reclining up to 48 degrees, these individual rear seats offer a massaging feature and a wireless smartphone charger.
And that’s not all. The 4-seat 2023 Lexus LX 600 Ultra Luxury also comes equipped with diamond-stitched leather seats (with embossed headrests), a power rear ottoman for the right-rear passenger, a digital rearview mirror, and a rear-seat entertainment system with twin 11.4-inch screens and four USB ports.
