The Lucid Air is a premium electric sedan that goes toe-to-toe with the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, and Audi e-tron GT. It delivers exciting performance, impressive range, and advanced technology that will make you feel like you’re driving a luxury car from the future.
Unfortunately for bargain hunters, the starting price of the Lucid Air has increased by $10,000 compared to the debut 2022 model. However, it’s still priced competitively with its rivals.
Let’s look at the four trims available for the 2023 Lucid Air and find the right EV for you.
2023 Lucid Air Pure: $87,400
The Pure trim of the Lucid Air (the only model with a 5-digit price tag) has a nice balance of performance, range, and technology. The standard powertrain features a single electric motor powering the rear wheels, but the car can be ordered with a dual-motor powertrain and all-wheel drive (AWD). The Lucid Air Pure makes up to 480 horsepower and has an estimated maximum range of 410 miles.
Standard equipment in the Lucid Air Pure includes 19-inch wheels, PurLuxe faux leather upholstery, a 34-inch 5k display, and a retractable Pilot Panel infotainment screen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa. This high-tech infotainment system also will receive over-the-air software updates.
Every Lucid Air comes with the DreamDrive suite of safety and driver assistance features. It bundles automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, a 360-degree camera, and autonomous parking assist.
In addition to the dual-motor powertrain, additional optional features include 20-inch wheels, an Alcantara headliner, a Surreal Sound Pro audio system, and a DreamDrive Pro advanced driver assistance system with future-ready hardware for semi-autonomous driving.
When you factor in a $1,650 destination fee, the Lucid Air starts at $89,050. If you get one with a 60-month loan at 3 percent interest with no trade-in or down payment, it will begin at about $1,600 a month. See 2023 Lucid Air Pure models for sale near you
2023 Lucid Air Pure includes:
410-mile range — The impressive driving range of the Lucid Air makes it an especially practical EV.
DreamDrive — The standard DreamDrive system combines many safety tech features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous parking assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
34-inch Glass Cockpit display — This customizable display functions well while adding to the high-tech ambiance of the Lucid Air.
2023 Lucid Air Touring: $107,400
The Touring trim is where the dual-motor, all-wheel drive electric powertrain becomes standard in the Lucid Air. This brings a significant upgrade in performance with 620 hp, and it still gets an outstanding range of up to 425 miles. According to Lucid, the Touring model hits 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
Additional standard features with the Touring trim include 20-inch wheels (19-inch and 21-inch wheels are optional) and a choice of Nappa full-grain or premium natural-grain leather with genuine wood trim.
The Surreal Surround Pro sound system and DreamDrive Pro safety tech suite remain optional. Another excellent option is the Glass Canopy panoramic sunroof.
The Lucid Air Touring will have a monthly payment of about $1,960 if you get one with a 60-month loan at 3% interest and no money down. See 2023 Lucid Air Touring models for sale near you
2023 Lucid Air Touring includes:
425-mile range — The range of the Touring trim is even better than that of the standard Pure model.
620 hp — The powerful electric powertrain in the Lucid Air Touring yields a quick 3.4-second 0-60 mph time.
All-wheel drive — Standard AWD makes the Lucid Air Touring suitable for snowy and inclement climates.
2023 Lucid Air Grand Touring: $138,000
The Grand Touring model expands on the Touring trim with more luxurious features, better performance, and a longer range. It still uses a dual-motor, AWD electric powertrain but produces up to 1,050 hp and goes up to 516 miles on a full charge.
In addition to the mechanical upgrades, the Grand Touring trim has a standard Glass Canopy roof, and an extended Nappa full-grain leather interior with Alcantara inserts. It has the same wheel options as the Touring model.
The Surreal Sound Pro and DreamDrive Pro systems remain optional at this trim level.
This high-performance electric luxury sedan starts at about $2,510 per month if you bring one home with a 60-month loan at 3% interest and zero down. See 2023 Lucid Air Grand Touring models for sale near you
2023 Lucid Air Grand Touring includes:
516-mile range — Few EVs on the market have an EPA driving range of over 500 miles.
1,050 hp — The Lucid Air Grand Touring has true supercar-like performance in a luxury sedan.
Glass Canopy roof — This full-length panoramic roof gives the Air interior a genuinely airy feel.
2023 Lucid Air Sapphire: $249,000
The Sapphire trim is new for 2023. It’s the top Lucid Air model range and uses a three-motor electric powertrain. As such, Lucid claims the Sapphire, with more than 1,200 hp, hits 60 mph in less than 2 seconds and has a top speed of over 200 mph. That means it will put many supercars to shame, but the Sapphire costs considerably more than the Grand Touring.
In addition to the mechanical upgrade, it has Sapphire Blue paint and interior contrast stitching, which are unique to the Sapphire trim. It also has staggered 20-inch and 21-inch wheels, bolstered sport front seats, Surreal Sound Pro, and DreamDrive Pro.
If you get a Lucid Air Sapphire with a 60-month loan at 3% interest and zero down, it will have a monthly payment of about $4,504. See 2023 Lucid Air Sapphire models for sale near you
2023 Lucid Air Sapphire includes:
Three-motor powertrain — Lucid claims its first 3-motor powertrain makes over 1,200 hp, propelling the Sapphire to 60 mph in less than two seconds.
Sapphire Blue paint — This eye-catching paint is exclusive to the Sapphire model and has matching interior contrast stitching.
DreamDrive Pro — The DreamDrive Pro system has future-ready hardware prepared for semi-autonomous driving via over-the-air updates.
You don’t really go into what the more luxurious features of the Grand Touring are. I know that it has faster charging, massage seats, and probably other things, but I can’t find anything that goes into the differences with a comprehensive list.
I’d love to see an actual list of what features are added to each model.
