If you yearn for a large luxury sedan with some serious propulsion and gorgeous exterior styling to match, we give you the 2023 Maserati Quattroporte. To qualify, you need deep pockets and a willingness to forego the sumptuous cabins of rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8. We wouldn’t classify the Quattroporte’s digs as Spartan, but they don’t rise to the expectations created by a 6-figure price tag.
Having tossed in that interior caveat, we like the Quattroporte for its potent twin-turbo powertrains, impressive tech features, molten-metal styling, and deep-throated sound signature. This is a sedan for those who prize performance above all and want to — we’ll say it — show off a bit. Nothing wrong with that. It’s where the Quattroporte excels.
We’ll also add that we are impressed with Quattroporte’s Skyhook performance suspension with electronic damping. It’s standard on all three trim levels: GT, Modena, and Trofeo. Sensors at each wheel continually monitor changing conditions like road surface, speed, driver input, and more. Consequently, the system adjusts each wheel’s damper in a nanosecond to meet current conditions. Not only does this suspension minimize dive and squat when braking and accelerating, but it also smooths the ride.
Another across-the-board advanced technology is a semiautonomous driver assistance system called Active Driver Assist. It can steer, accelerate, and brake the car in certain situations.
Let’s check out how the three Quattroporte trim levels compare.
2023 Maserati Quattroporte GT: $108,400
A 345-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 propels the GT’s rear wheels. No matter the trim level, an 8-speed automatic transmission transfers engine torque to the rubber. According to the EPA, this powertrain delivers 19 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
The standard features are 19-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, LED taillights, a power sunroof, the Skyhook adaptive suspension, and a limited-slip differential. Also included are heated 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, leather upholstery, and open-pore wood trim.
Heated auto-dimming outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, a power trunk lid, remote start, and proximity keyless entry with push-button start are standard, too. Other standard fare includes dual-zone automatic climate control, power rear window shades, and rain-sensing wipers.
Controlling the infotainment system is a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Also included are a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, Bluetooth, satellite-radio capability, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
A wide array of advanced safety and driver-aid technologies is standard. For example, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are included. Also standard are a surround-view camera, front-rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and high-beam assist.
Maserati provides several packages and standalone options to tailor the GT to your tastes. For instance, the $1,000 Comfort & Convenience Package adds soft-close doors, power-adjustable foot pedals, heated rear seats, and a hands-free power trunk lid.
Adding the $1,995 factory destination fee to the GT base price brings the total to $110,395. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out to about $1,984 monthly. See 2023 Maserati Quattroporte GT models for sale near you
2023 Maserati Quattroporte GT includes:
Adaptive LED headlights – These headlights point into turns, better illuminating the path through.
Active Driver Assist – A semiautonomous driver-assistance system, it accelerates, brakes, and steers the Quattroporte on certain roads and under specific conditions.
Rain-sensing wipers – When the system senses moisture on the windshield, it automatically engages the wipers. The wiper speed adjusts according to the volume of the rain.
2023 Maserati Quattroporte Modena: $119,700
Maserati also arms the Quattroporte Modena with the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6; however, it’s tuned to deliver 424 hp in this usage. You can add all-wheel drive (AWD) for $4,700. RWD versions deliver 19 mpg in combined driving; AWD (Modena Q4) models — oddly enough — get the same.
To the GT, the Modena adds 79 more horsepower, piano-black wood interior accents, steering-wheel-mounted aluminum paddle shifters, and perforated-leather seats.
Many of the GT’s options carry over to the Modena.
Adding the destination fee to the Modena base price equals $121,695. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to a monthly payment of approximately $2,187. See 2023 Maserati Quattroporte Modena models for sale near you
2023 Maserati Quattroporte Modena includes:
Tuned turbo V6 – This version of the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 generates 424 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Maserati says the Modena hits 60 mph in 5.0 seconds with RWD or 4.8 seconds with AWD.
Piano-black accents – These glossy-black wood accents add a sense of opulence to the passenger experience.
Paddle shifters – Mounted on the back of the steering wheel, these levers let the driver upshift or downshift the automatic transmission at will.
2023 Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo: $157,000
RWD only, the Trofeo sources its thrust from a 572-hp 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Its EPA combined fuel eonomy figure is 16 mpg.
If the Quattroporte is about performance, the Trofeo is about take-no-prisoners performance. It has a Sport drive mode, track-ready Corsa Drive Mode, and launch control. A carbon-fiber panel covers the engine.
Carbon-fiber interior and exterior accents dress up the appearance while keeping weight in check. Maserati covers the interior with Pieno Fiore leather, and the front seats are ventilated. Other upgrades from the Modena are an auto-dimming rearview mirror, 21-inch forged alloy wheels, soft-close doors, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, and power-adjustable sport pedals.
You can add quad-zone automatic climate control for $1,100.
Adding the destination fee to the Trofeo base prices comes to $158,995. With our no-money-down, 3% financing scenario, the monthly payment would be about $2,857. See 2023 Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo models for sale near you
2023 Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo includes:
Turbo V8 – Making 572 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque, the Trofeo’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 can push the Trofeo from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds.
Launch control – This electronic aid assists drivers in maximizing acceleration from a standstill.
Ventilated front seats – Blowing cool air, these seats do a remarkable job of keeping you comfortable in hot weather.
