The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV is a favorite amongst luxury buyers. It has a long history of innovation and street cred, highlighted by its high-performance AMG models.
Offered in five variations with all but one equipped with 4Matic all-wheel drive (AWD), the GLE has something for everyone, provided everyone has the money. 2023 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53: $76,950
The 2023 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 is the first of two high-performance variants from the Mercedes-Benz in-house tuner AMG.
The AMG 53 starts life with the same body and equipment as the GLE 450 4Matic, then adds an enhanced 3.0-liter turbocharged engine good for 429 hp. The 4Matic+ AWD system also gets the AMG treatment, as does the 9-speed automatic, both tuned for performance driving.
An AMG performance exhaust helps the engine breathe better and emit an intoxicating exhaust note.
Adaptive damping and AMG Ride Control Airmatic suspension are two more features that help give the GLE 53 a noticeable advantage in the curves, while AMG performance brakes help bring a speeding GLE 53 to a rapid halt.
