Nissan has made only a few standard-feature changes to the returning 2023 Nissan Armada. They primarily affect the SV trim that now provides Amazon Alexa, remote engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and LED fog lights. The Platinum and the SL get Alexa; the SL also gets a heated steering wheel.
You may pick from among the S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard; you may upgrade to 4-wheel drive (4WD) for $3,000.
Under the hood of every Armada is a 400-horsepower 5.6-liter V8 that produces 413 lb-ft of torque. A 7-speed automatic transmission hustles engine production to the wheels.
The main Armada competitors are the Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and the redesigned Toyota Sequoia.
We like the Armada for its value, gutsy V8, well-appointed cabin, and a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds. The Armada is truck-based, truck-capable, and truck-like in its ride quality and fuel economy. However, its interior is upscale, and Nissan provides plenty of convenience features and safety technology.
Let’s take a look at the various trim levels.
2023 Nissan Armada S: $50,400
The foundation of the Armada lineup, the S comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a self-leveling rear suspension, hill-start assist, and LED auto on/off headlights. Also included are power-heated outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and cloth seats.
Other S equipment includes a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, an 8-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a 60/40 split-folding second-row seat. Proximity keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable steering wheel are also standard. Also included are four USB ports, three 12-volt power points, and an auto-close rear liftgate.
Kicking off the infotainment system is a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which supports a 4-speaker audio system, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, satellite-radio capability, and Bluetooth. NissanConnect, hands-free texting, and a Wi-Fi hotspot also are standard.
Among the safety and driver-aid technologies are front/rear park assist, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, and lane-departure warning. A driver-attention warning, adaptive cruise control, and a steering wheel that vibrates with haptic feedback also are included.
Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 is standard on all 2023 Armadas. It adds high-beam assist, forward automatic emergency braking, rear emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Nissan doesn’t offer any factory-installed options for the S or SV.
Adding the $1,595 factory delivery fee to the base S price brings the total to $51,995. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out to about $934 per month. See 2023 Nissan Armada S models for sale near you
2023 Nissan Armada S includes:
Power-adjustable steering wheel – Changing the height and reach of the steering wheel is as easy as pressing a button.
Proximity keyless entry – If the key fob is on your person, the doors automatically unlock when you approach the vehicle or touch the door handle. Push-button start pairs with proximity keyless entry.
Dual-zone automatic climate control – A set-and-forget system divides the vehicle into left and right regions. It provides separate temperature settings for each area and maintains those temps.
2023 Nissan Armada SV: $54,950
Building on the S, the SV gains rear privacy glass, power-folding outboard mirrors, wireless phone charging, an upgraded 6-speaker audio system, and a trailer-brake controller. Also included are Alexa, remote engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, LED fog lights, faux-leather seats, and HomeLink.
Adding the factory delivery fee to the SV base prices totals $56,545. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out to a monthly payment of about $1,016. See 2023 Nissan Armada SV models for sale near you
2023 Nissan Armada SV includes:
Remote start – Within range, you can start the SV from outside the vehicle with the key fob. Pre-cool the vehicle in summer; pre-heat it in winter.
Smartphone charging – You can charge any Qi-compatible smartphone without using a cable.
Auto-dimming rearview mirror – Using photosensors, it recognizes bright headlights closing from behind and automatically dims their reflection.
2023 Nissan Armada SL: $58,370
With the SL, the Armada stretches into luxury territory. It adds upscale features like leather seating (first two rows), a power liftgate, a power moonroof, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. It also gains a driver memory for the Intelligent (proximity) key, steering wheel, driver’s seat, outboard mirrors, and heated steering wheel. A surround-view camera is standard as well.
For $750, you may add second-row captain’s chairs with a center console, while another $1,990 brings you the blacked-out Midnight Package.
Adding the factory destination fee to the SL base price totals $59,965. Our financing formula estimates the monthly payment to about $1,077. See 2023 Nissan Armada SL models for sale near you
2023 Nissan Armada SL includes:
Driver’s memory – This allows drivers to preset the position of the driver’s seat, outboard mirrors, heated steering wheel, and more.
Bose audio – This 13-speaker Bose system provides a subwoofer.
Leather seating – For an added touch of luxury.
2023 Nissan Armada Platinum: $66,720
Perched atop the Armada lineup, the Platinum trim represents the most you can pack into this full-size Nissan SUV. It begins with 22-inch alloy wheels and includes auto-dimming outboard mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a wiper de-icer, and ventilated and heated front seats. Rear heated seats, quilted leather seating, speed-sensitive power steering, and third-row power-recline-and-fold seats are also standard.
A rear family entertainment system with two 8-inch monitors, two wireless headphones, and an HDMI input keeps the second-row occupants busy. Traffic-sign recognition, a digital camera rearview mirror, and Intelligent Backup Collision Intervention bolster the safety tech. The latter uses the surround-view camera system to warn of approaching traffic from the side, even applying the brakes if necessary.
The Platinum can be ordered with captain’s chairs and as a Midnight Edition.
Adding the $1,595 factory delivery fee to the Platinum base price brings the total to $68,315. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out to about $1,228 per month. See 2023 Nissan Armada Platinum models for sale near you
2023 Nissan Armada Platinum includes:
Traffic-sign recognition – A front-pointing camera captures images of traffic-warning and information signs along the road. It matches these images with its database. When it recognizes an important sign, such as a Stop, Yield, or Speed Limit, it displays that info on one of the vehicle’s displays.
Power third-row – The third-row seat of the Armada Platinum provides power and recline adjustments.
Rain-sensing wipers – When the system senses moisture on the windshield, it automatically engages the wipers. The wiper speed adjusts according to the volume of the rain.
