2023 Nissan Titan XD: Choosing the Right Trim

The Nissan Titan XD is a full-size truck with heavy-duty capabilities. It uses a chassis based on Nissan’s line of commercial trucks, making it suitable for truck drivers who need a little more muscle than a light-duty truck like the regular Nissan Titan.

Nissan discontinued the previously available Cummins turbo-diesel V8 a few years ago, leaving the 5.6-liter gas V8 as the sole engine option in the Titan XD. This engine makes 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The Titan XD can tow up to 10,898 pounds and has a maximum payload rating of 2,406 pounds. Every Titan XD has a crew cab body and 4-wheel drive (4WD).

The Titan XD is comparable to gas-powered versions of the Ford Super Duty line and the HD variants of the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Ram. The Titan XD’s capabilities can’t match its rivals’ diesel options, but the Nissan isn’t as expensive.

Let’s look at the four distinct trims of the Nissan Titan XD and find the right truck for you.

2023 Nissan Titan XD S (starting at $47,340)

The base S trim is a good value because of its robust capabilities and some impressive standard features. It has a simple appearance with black bumpers, black exterior trim, and steel wheels, but it has some functional perks like a spray-on bed liner, a Class IV receiver hitch, and a removable locking tailgate.

Standard features include 4WD with a 2-speed transfer case, cloth seats with vinyl bolsters, vinyl flooring, a backup camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control, a driver alertness monitor, an overhead console, a 7-inch driver information center, and push-button start.

The standard infotainment system has an 8-inch screen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM. You also get two USB ports (one Type-A and one Type-C).

The standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 safety tech suite bundles many driver assistance tech features. It includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and more.

An available Heavy Duty Front GAWR package upgrades the front springs increasing the front axle’s Gross Axle Weight Rating from 4,325 pounds to 4,900 pounds.

The Titan XD has a destination charge of $1,795. Assuming a 60-month loan at 3% interest with no money down, the Titan XD S will cost you about $883 monthly. See 2023 Nissan Titan XD S models for sale
