2024 Acura TLX: Choosing the Right Trim

The 2024 Acura TLX is a highly reliable luxury sedan with an appetite for curves. Buyers will find plenty of advanced technology on board, backed by a luxurious cabin and outstanding safety and crash test scores.

The entry-level TLX Technology is pulled by its front wheels and motivated by a 272-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. Next up is the A-Spec, which uses the same engine but adds Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) for a more aggressive and traction-enhancing driving experience. Moving to the top-line Type S brings an adaptive suspension, Brembo brakes, and a 355-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V6.

Given the TLX’s size and price range, there are plenty of cars to cross shop. We suggest you look at the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, Audi A4, Genesis G70, and the  Lexus IS.

Let’s look closely at each trim and see which is right for you.

What’s New:

A simplified lineup sees the 2024 Acura TLX shrink to three trims: Technology, A-Spec, and Type S. All three gain more standard equipment, a new front end design, and upgraded 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment screens. All trims also see a price bump.

Our Recommendation:

The Acura TLX A-Spec makes the most sense to us, bringing more features and style plus the year-round security of SH-AWD. If you don’t need AWD and want to save a little money, the Technology is also a perfectly acceptable choice.
