The Audi Q4 e-tron is an electric compact luxury SUV available with two powertrain options and two distinct body styles. It successfully electrifies the many virtues of Audi SUVs, like a premium interior, the latest tech features, and an engaging driving experience. As Audi’s most affordable electric vehicle (EV), the Q4 e-tron also has a reasonable price tag compared to some other electric luxury SUVs. It’s available as a standard SUV or a sloped-roof Sportback mode.
The Audi Q4 e-tron competes with the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes-EQ EQB, and Lexus RZ. It also competes with the upper trims of non-luxury electric SUVs like the Nissan Ariya and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

Adaptive cruise control now comes standard on every Q4 e-tron. It also now has paddle shifter-style controls on the steering wheel that let the driver adjust the level of regenerative braking. Finally, the Convenience Package (optional on the Premium trim, standard on the two upper trims) now includes a universal garage door opener.
Our Recommendation:
We like the midrange Premium Plus trim. Its luxurious features, like a hands-free power liftgate, the Virtual Cockpit Plus gauge cluster, and extra safety tech, are worth the additional cost.

The base Premium trim of the Audi Q4 e-tron is available with the 40 single-motor powertrain or the 50 dual-motor setup. The Q4 40 e-tron has 201 horsepower, rear-wheel drive (RWD), and an estimated 265-mile range. The sportier Q4 50 e-tron produces 295 horsepower, gets a 236-mile range, and has the quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Standard features in the Premium trim include 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a power tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. On the inside, this electric SUV has leather seats (heated in front), 3-zone automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, an 11.6-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
A generous list of standard safety features includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, automatic high beams, and front and rear parking sensors.
The optional Convenience Package ($2,850) adds an alarm system, a hands-free power liftgate, auto-dimming mirrors, projection light in the exterior mirrors, dual-pane acoustic glass for the front side windows, a memory driver’s seat, a power front passenger seat, a universal garage door opener, a wireless charging pad, and SiriusXM. Since the body is more aerodynamic, the Q4 Sportback 50 e-tron is a bit more efficient than the SUV model, yielding a better range. The Sportback model can travel 242 miles on a full charge.
