2024 Cadillac Escalade: Choosing the Right Trim

The 2024 Cadillac Escalade is a force unto itself. Its size, power, luxury trappings, and high-tech features meld into a one-of-a-kind luxury SUV big enough to fit a family of seven. The extended Escalade ESV adds another 16 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat, so everyone’s luggage can fit comfortably inside.

Cadillac offers the Escalade in six very different trims ranging from luxurious to opulent, powerful to potent. It also provides a choice of two robust 6.2-liter V8 gas engines and a fuel-efficient 3.0-liter turbodiesel. Good luck finding either option in a Lincoln Navigator or Lexus GX.

Four-wheel drive (4WD) is optional across the Escalade lineup, except on the performance-oriented V-Series, where it’s standard.

What’s New:

For 2024, Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous hands-free driving system is standard on all but the base Luxury trim. All Escalade models come with a 3-year subscription to the OnStar Premium Plan, while SiriusXM returns to a 3-month trial period.

A 20th Anniversary V-Series package adds a grille header graphic, interior splash screen logo, and puddle lamp logo (standard only on the Escalade-V).

Our Recommendation:

We think the Premium Luxury provides all that’s needed for the luxury buyer, with plenty of room to add options. Those who want the best of the best can skip right to the Cadillac Escalade Platinum. But if you’re all about turning heads and dropping jaws, there’s only one choice: the all-new Escalade-V.

2024 Cadillac Escalade Luxury: $81,895; $84,895 (ESV)

In a testament to how fast the luxury SUV world is evolving, the base Escalade Luxury trim contains features that would have put it at the top of the trim ladder just a few short years ago. As such, we think the Luxury trim is a good choice for buyers who love being pampered but are not big fans of cutting-edge, high-tech options.

Motivation for the Luxury trim comes from a 420-hp 6.2-liter V8 engine running power to the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. A mechanical limited-slip rear differential, a heavy-duty oil cooler, and heavy-duty trailering equipment with a 7-pin harness are all included.

Also standard is automatic vehicle hold, hill start assist, and hitch guidance that uses the rearview camera to provide a guideline when hooking up a trailer.

Cadillac’s Smart System features several standard driver-assist systems designed to help avoid accidents. The group includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, automatic high-beam headlights, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and rear pedestrian alert.

Other standard driver aids include front and rear parking sensors (these may be delayed due to microchip shortages), an HD Surround Vision camera, a Safety Alert driver’s seat, a rear seat reminder, a rear-vision camera, Teen Driver, and rear park assist.

The Luxury trim isn’t flashy, but its exterior is still pure Escalade, thanks to 22-inch alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear privacy glass, auto-leveling LED headlights, LED tail lamps, and power-folding heated side mirrors with a driver’s-side auto-dimming feature.

Other standard equipment includes a 17-inch full-size spare tire, chrome roof rails, a hands-free power liftgate, illuminated door handles, rain-sensing wipers, and upper active aero-shutters behind the grille that close at speed for improved aerodynamics.

The Escalade’s proximity key fob alerts the vehicle to your presence, permitting you to unlock the doors by touching the door handle. Once inside, a push of a button is all that’s needed to start the engine. When it’s too cold or hot to go outside, the standard remote start lets you start the Escalade and precondition the cabin before climbing in.

Open the door, and you’ll find 3-row seating covered in “Inteluxe” faux-leather upholstery. The Luxury has heated 12-way power front seats, including 2-way power lumbar support, heated second-row bucket seats with power fold and tumble release, and a power-folding 60/40-split third-row bench seat. The driver’s seat includes memory settings for the seat, the power-adjustable steering column, and mirrors.

To ensure your listening experience meets Cadillac standards, a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system includes a conversation enhancer that projects voices in the front row to the rear seats, making it easier to converse.

Other amenities on the 2024 Cadillac Escalade Luxury include a heated steering wheel with controls for the cruise, audio, phone, and conversation enhancer. Tri-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging pad, a center console with a 110-volt outlet, USB-A and USB-C ports, ambient interior lighting, and an overhead console are also included.

The Luxury trim isn’t wholly devoid of high-tech features. Most notable is its enormous curved OLED display containing a 14.2-inch instrument cluster, a 7.2-inch control panel, and a 16.9-inch infotainment display.

The Escalade Luxury’s infotainment setup includes navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio with a 3-month trial subscription (requires Platinum plan), HD Radio, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, OnStar, and Cadillac Connected apps.

The navigation system has an augmented reality feature that places a live image of what’s in front of the Escalade onto the digital display in the instrument cluster. The system can even overlay directional information — like turn arrows and projected paths — atop the image, helping the driver know precisely where they are and when to turn.

Optional upgrades include 4WD, the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine, a Brembo brake upgrade, a cat-back performance exhaust, a second-row bench seat, and various dealer-added accessories.

With the $1,995 destination charge, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade Luxury costs $83,890. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment totals $1,583. See 2024 Cadillac Escalade Luxury models for sale near you

2024 Cadillac Escalade Luxury includes:

19-speaker audio – The AKG Studio audio system comprises 19 speakers, a power amplifier, and a built-in subwoofer.

Hands-free liftgate – Kick your foot beneath the rear bumper, and the liftgate automatically opens.

Safety Alert Seat – This clever device vibrates the seat bottom on the left, right, or both sides to alert the driver to the direction of a potential crash.

2024 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury: $93,195; $96,195 (ESV)

The Premium Luxury trim’s additional $11,300 markup won’t add much to the Escalade’s monthly payment, but it delivers a better-equipped luxury SUV with more optional upgrades.

The Luxury Premium’s most attractive standard feature is Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous hands-free driving program that operates on more than 200,000 miles of approved roads in the U.S. and Canada.

Building off the Luxury, the Premium Luxury adds a panoramic power sunroof with power sunshade, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, 22-inch polished wheels, a rear camera mirror with a camera lens washer, and a full-color head-up display.

Additional safety and driver aids include adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic emergency braking, automatic seatbelt tightening, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and an automated parking assistant that can parallel or perpendicular park the vehicle.

Other upgrades include an enhanced anti-theft alarm with glass breakage sensors, interior movement sensors, and an inclination sensor that detects if the vehicle is getting towed away.

Optional upgrades for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury trim include the Touring Package that adds soft-close doors, an Air Ride adaptive suspension, and illuminated sill plates.

The Performance Package adds an electronic limited-slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control adaptive shock absorbers, trailerside blind-zone alert, integrated trailer brake control, hitch guidance with Hitch View, an in-vehicle trailer app, and Smart Trailer integration indicator.

The Heavy Duty Trailer Package adds an auxiliary trailer camera, trailer tire pressure monitors, trailering assist guidance, an extra-capacity cooling system, and, on 4WD models, a 2-speed active transfer case.

Standalone options include a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system, a rear-seat entertainment system, power-retractable side steps, and Night Vision infrared sensors to help you see people or animals beyond the headlight’s range (requires Touring Package).

Buyers also can opt for Brandy-colored full leather seating with quilted pattern inserts.

With the $1,995 destination charge, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury costs $95,190. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment totals $1,796. See 2024 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury models for sale near you

Heated and ventilated front seats – The driver and front passenger stay cool and dry in summer and warm and comfortable in winter.

Super Cruise – Cadillac’s Super Cruise does the steering (on 200,000 miles of approved U.S. and Canada roads). It can also change lanes, slow down, speed up, or stop the Escalade if necessary.

2024 Cadillac Escalade Sport: $96,195; $99,195 (ESV)

The Sport trim adds a more rugged and sporty feeling without sacrificing luxury.

Building off the Premium Luxury trim, the Sport adds black exterior trim, a gloss black mesh grille, sporty 22-inch, polished Dark Android wheels, and the Performance Package contents.

Optional for the Sport is the Onyx Package that adds a gloss black Escalade nameplate, puddle lights with Cadillac crest, monochrome Cadillac emblems, and 22-inch gloss black wheels.

2024 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury Platinum: $110,695; $113,695 (ESV)

The Platinum models elevate the Escalade to the super-luxury category, placing it squarely in the same league as the Land Rover Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class.

Building off the Premium Luxury, the Platinum adds many of the former trim’s optional equipment, including the 36-speaker AKG audio system, rear-seat entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch infotainment displays, plus the Touring and Performance packages.

The Platinum grade includes a unique grille and trim, puddle lamps with Cadillac crest, 16-way power driver and passenger seats with 5-setting power lumbar massage, and illuminated sill plates.

The Platinum’s dash, door panels, and console come wrapped in leather, with sueded microfiber covering the pillars and headliner. Soft-close doors secure quietly once they latch.

Optional equipment for the Platinum mirrors the remaining packages for the Premium Luxury trim.

Unique to the Platinum is a front center console refrigerator with freezer mode, covered storage, and full leather seating with semi-aniline surfaces in Jet Black or Dark Auburn.

Leather-wrapped dash and console – Add to an already rich interior with supple leather matching the other interior upholstery.

Available console refrigerator – An in-console cooler can chill drinks and perishables to 41 degrees Fahrenheit. When set to freezer mode, it can drop the temp to 23 degrees F.

2024 Cadillac Escalade-V: $152,295; $155,295 (ESV)

The Escalade-V gets special attention from Cadillac’s in-house V performance division.

Under the hood resides a handbuilt, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with an astounding 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a beefed-up 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time active AWD setup that divides torque between the front and rear axles for maximum grip. As such, this hottest Escalade competes with the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and the Range Rover SV.

The Escalade-V has an advanced Air Ride adaptive suspension and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, tuned explicitly for more aggressive handling. The driver-selectable V-Mode includes Tour or Sport settings for the engine, steering, brakes, and suspension, with an additional Snow/Ice mode for the AWD system. There’s also a launch control function for when you really need to go.

Speaking of go, the Escalade-V can dash to 60 mph in just under 4.4 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 12.74 seconds at 110 mph.

Other features unique to the V include exclusive front and rear fasciae, 6-piston Brembo front brakes with Edge Red brake calipers, quad exhaust, and unique 22-inch wheels.

The Escalade-V gets its own interior embellishments, building off the Escalade Platinum’s standard equipment and adding semi-aniline leather in black or Dark Auburn covering all three rows, heated and massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, and Zebra wood accents.

It also gains more styling detail courtesy of a new 20th Anniversary V-Series Package.

With the $1,995 destination charge, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V costs $154,290. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to about $2,912. See 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V models for sale near you

FAQ

  • What warranty coverage comes with the 2024 Cadillac Escalade?

The Escalade has a 4-year/50,000-mile basic plan and a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.

  • How many miles per gallon does the 2024 Cadillac Escalade get?

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the standard 6.2-liter V8, the Cadillac Escalade earns EPA fuel-economy ratings of 14 mpg city/19 mpg highway/16 combined for the 2WD model and 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway/16 combined with 4WD.

When equipped with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6, the Escalade returns 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway/23 mpg combined with 2WD and 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway/22 mpg combined with 4WD.

The Escalade-V’s EPA fuel economy is about what we expected: 11 mpg city/16 mpg highway/13 mpg combined. The EPA numbers are for 2023, except for the Escalade-V, which has numbers for 2024.

  • Which 2024 Cadillac Escalade offers the most safety?

We suspect all the Escalade trims will perform equally in the event of an accident. Still, to get the maximum in crash avoidance technology, you’ll want to opt for the Premium Luxury or higher trims.
