2024 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica PHEV: Choosing the Right Trim

In the world of family haulers, the minivan is still king. And while many people don’t find them very cool, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica makes great strides to erase the van’s “soccer mom” image. It offers seating for up to eight, has a modern, dare we say, luxurious interior, and provides the option of a plug-in hybrid powertrain that qualifies it for a $7,500 federal tax credit.

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) can be charged at home and offers an electric-only range of about 30 miles. With the gas and electric motors working together, the Pacifica PHEV can travel over 500 miles.

Opting for the non-hybrid version brings a 287-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 backed by a choice of front- (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). That’s a choice not offered on the Kia Carnival or Honda Odyssey, although you can get it on the Toyota Sienna, which also comes standard with a hybrid powertrain.

In all, Chrysler offers the Pacifica in five trims. The Touring, Touring L, and Limited are all powered by the standard gas engine. The Select trim is PHEV only, with the top-line Pinnacle offering a choice of either powertrain.

What’s New:

Some Chrysler Pacifica trims see a slight shuffling of their standard and optional features. The Touring L PHEV and Limited PHEV trims are dropped and replaced by a new Select Plug-in Hybrid trim. The Pinnacle retains the PHEV option and refreshes the interior with a new Sepia color scheme.

Our Recommendation:

The Pacifica in Touring L trim offers the best combination of features, price, and optional upgrades. However, the Select PHEV is the best choice if you’re shopping for a hybrid.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring: $38,025

The Touring trim offers just the basics. But in a Chrysler, the basics look surprisingly upscale. You can’t get the PHEV powertrain or AWD, but considering the Touring’s sub-$40,000 price tag, everything else included in the price of admission seems pretty darn impressive.

The equipment roster kicks off with a healthy dose of standard driver-assist systems.

The Touring features forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, full-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic detection.

Adaptive cruise control keeps a safe distance from the car directly ahead, while rear parking sensors with automatic braking help prevent minor fender benders.

Automatic high-beam headlights illuminate when sensing the need for more light; they dim automatically when sensing oncoming headlights or taillights ahead.

Other safety systems include a rearview monitor, a tire pressure monitor, and front, front side-impact, front knee, and full-length side curtain airbags.

Exterior features include LED bulbs for the headlights, fog lights, and daytime running lights. Also standard are 17-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, and power-sliding side doors.

The Touring features a remote proximity key fob that senses when a door handle is touched and unlocks the doors. It also enables the push-button starter and remote start feature.

All Pacifica trims feature a tire sealant kit instead of a full-size spare tire.

Moving to the interior, we find second-row Stow ‘n Go bucket seats and a third-row Stow ‘n Go bench. Both seats fold flush into the floor, negating the need to remove them when needing an unobstructed level floor.

Standard amenities include a heated tilt/telescoping steering wheel and tri-zone automatic climate control with front and rear seat control panels. An 8-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar comes standard, as do heated front seats covered in durable cloth upholstery.

Chrysler’s Uconnect 5 infotainment system features a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM 360L, HD Radio, integrated voice commands with text reply, Amazon Alexa, and over-the-air firmware updates.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring costs $39,620. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $748. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring models for sale near you

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring includes:

  • Adaptive cruise control – Helps maintain a safe distance from the traffic ahead and can slow or speed up as conditions dictate.
  • Tri-zone climate control – Allows greater control over climate settings for the first and second rows.
  • Power sliding side doors – The Pacifica’s sliding side doors open and close at the push of a button. Pinch protection reverses the door when objects are sensed in its path.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L: $41,685 (FWD), $44,680 (AWD)

The Touring L opens the door to several options, including a second-row bench seat that increases total passenger capacity to eight persons (not available with AWD).

Building off the Touring, the Touring L adds leatherette seat upholstery, rear seat ambient lighting, driver’s seat memory, second-row retractable shades, and a super console with illuminated cup holders.

Optional equipment for the Touring L includes the Safety Sphere Group, which adds a 360-degree Surround View camera, ParkSense front and rear parking sensors, and parallel and perpendicular self-parking assist.

Checking the box for the Uconnect Family Theater Group brings wireless streaming, dual 10-inch seatback touchscreens, Amazon Fire TV, a Blu-ray/DVD player with remote control, a 115-volt power outlet, and additional USB outlets.

KeySense, a system that allows drivers to place limits on the radio volume, top speed, and certain security features, helps promote safer driving.

The FamCam headliner-mounted camera lets the driver keep an eye on backseat shenanigans.

Rounding out the Family Theater Group’s features are the Stow’ n Vac built-in vacuum cleaner, hands-free sliding side doors and liftgate, an 8-way power passenger seat, a second-row bench seat (FWD only), heated rear seats, navigation, and a 13-speaker Alpine audio system.

The S Appearance Package is a popular choice and adds 18-inch dark gray wheels, Anodized Ink exterior trim, and black seats with light gray accents.

The Trailer Tow Group adds a Class II trailer hitch, 4- and 7-pin wiring harness, trailer sway damping, and a heavy-duty radiator. When so equipped, the Pacifica’s tow rating increases to 3,600 pounds.

The Road Tripper Package adds gray and orange door graphics, 20-inch wheels, the Trailer-Tow Group, and three paint colors: Bright White, Brilliant Black, and Baltic Gray.

Additional options include a dual-pane sunroof, Stow’ n Place roof rack, and an upgraded S Appearance Package that adds 20-inch wheels.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L costs $43,280. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $817. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L models for sale near you

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L includes:

  • Driver’s seat memory – Features a two-position memory setting for the driver’s seat and exterior mirrors.
  • Available Stow’ n Vac – This clever built-in vacuum cleaner makes quick work of spills and messes, a seemingly inevitable event when kids are onboard.
  • Available FamCam – Putting all offspring on alert: The Pacifica’s FamCam offers the driver a split-screen viewing area and a “zoom-to-seat” feature.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited: $48,955 (FWD), $51,950 (AWD)

The Limited elevates the Pacifica status with more luxury features and options.

Building off the Touring L, the Limited adds a gesture-activated hands-free liftgate and power sliding side doors, front door acoustic glass, and power-folding side mirror with auto-dimming driver’s glass and tilt-down in reverse feature.

The Limited gains a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 18-inch polished alloy wheels, exterior puddle lights, a black Stow ‘n Place roof rack, and a high-efficiency 220-amp alternator.

The Limited touts heated and ventilated front seats, an 8-way power passenger seat, and soft, high-quality Nappa leather upholstery. The front seats gain a one-touch feature, allowing them to slide forward for easier access to the second-row floor storage.

Opting for the Limited trim brings better interior illumination, including footwell courtesy lights, rear ambient lighting, right and left front door searchlights, and map pocket lights.

Additional upgrades include an integrated Premium console, the Stow’ n Vac vacuum, one-touch up/down power windows at all four doors, heated second-row seats, and a power-folding third-row seat.

Limited owners enjoy a 13-speaker Alpine audio, which can upgrade to a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with a 10-inch powered subwoofer when ordering the Theater Family Group.

The Uconnect 5 infotainment system gains navigation and SiriusXM 360L with Travel Link and Traffic.

Options for the Limited include a revised version of the Theater Family Group that removes features already standard and adds third-row power-folding seat headrests, Harman Kardon audio, and a power-folding 3rd-row seat.

The Safety Sphere Group and an upgraded S Appearance Package featuring 20-inch wheels round out the options.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited costs $50,550. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $954. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited models for sale near you

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited includes:

  • Heated and ventilated front seats – The ultimate in year-round comfort, these seats stay cool in summer and warm in winter.
  • Alpine audio – The 13-speaker Alpine audio system delivers bright highs and crystal-clear vocals, aided by a powered subwoofer for immersive bass.
  • Dual-pane sunroof – This massive glass panel covers the front and second row, with a front sliding panel that retracts for a blast of fresh air.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV: $52,495

The Pacifica Select is offered only in plug-in hybrid form with FWD.

It mirrors the Touring L’s standard content, with a few exceptions.

You can’t get the Stow ‘n Go bucket seats with the hybrid, which features fixed captain’s chairs that, in our experience, are vastly more comfortable.

The Select features a smaller fuel tank (16.5 vs. 19 gallons) and does not include options like the Stow’ n Vac integrated vacuum cleaner or heated second-row seats.

Unique to the Select is an available Premium S Appearance Package. It adds a 13-speaker Alpine audio system, tilt-down-in-reverse power-folding mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, Nappa leather upholstery, and 2-way power lumbar for the passenger seat. The Safety Sphere Group is also incorporated into the package, as are ventilated front seats and a wireless charging pad.

The S Appearance Package, Road Tripper Package, Safety Sphere Group, and Uconnect Family Theater Group are all available, but the Trailer Tow Group is not.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV costs $54,090. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $1,021. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV models for sale near you

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle: $54,615 (FWD), $57,610 (AWD)

At the top of the Pacifica lineup is the aptly named Pinnacle. It comes loaded to gills, including all the Limited’s optional equipment.

Unique to the Pinnacle are 20-inch polished alloy wheels with Baltic Gray pockets, quilted Sepia Nappa leather upholstery, and second-row captain’s chairs with lumbar pillows. Platinum chrome covers the door handles, grille surround, and platinum chrome Stow ‘n Place roof rack.

Also standard is a 115-volt outlet and an integrated Ultra console.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle costs $56,210. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $1,061. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle models for sale near you

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle includes:

  • Sepia Nappa leather – The Pinnacle’s supple Nappa leather gets a lovely quilted sew pattern along the side bolsters, adding an upscale look and feel.
  • ParkSense – The ParkSense suite includes front and rear parking sensors and a self-parking system for parallel and perpendicular parking spots.
  • Gesture-activated liftgate – No need to fumble for the key fob in the Pinnacle. Just kick your foot under the rear bumper to activate the power liftgate.

2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Pinnacle: $61,225

The Pinnacle PHEV shares all the same equipment as the Pinnacle, minus the things like the heated second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, power-folding third-row seat, Stow’ n Vac vacuum, Trailer Sway Control, and the 19-gallon fuel tank.

Figuring in the $1,595 destination charge, the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle PHEV costs $62,820. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $1,185. See 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle PHEV models for sale near you
