The 2024 Dodge Durango is more than just another 3-row midsize SUV. Its platform has held up well with age and is enormously appealing to those who dislike subtle or boring design. The Durango also sets itself apart with its performance credentials, culminating in the 710-horsepower SRT Hellcat.
The wide-ranging Durango lineup wears many hats. In V6 form, the Durango competes against the Toyota Highlander, Chevrolet Traverse, and Kia Telluride. Moving to the R/T and SRT trims brings a set of potent V8s designed to challenge the Ford Explorer ST and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The SRT version is good enough to go up against high-end SUVs like the BMW Alpina XB7 and Audi SQ7.
We’ve spent time in almost every trim. While the V8-powered models deliver impressive performance and towing figures (a best-in-class 8,700 pounds), the V6 Durango models are nearly as satisfying and far more affordable, not to mention fuel efficient.
Prices provided are current at the time of publishing.
What’s New:
The popular Tow N Go option package extends to the Durango Citadel trim, bringing an 8,700-pound tow rating and a top speed of 145 mph.
A blind-spot monitor is now standard, and a new blind-spot monitor with trailer detection joins the Trailer Tow Group.
Our Recommendation:
For most buyers, the midrange GT trim is the best buy in the Durango lineup because of its balance of features and value.
