The Genesis GV80 looks as stylish as ever, with all models of this luxurious 3-row SUV now sporting standard all-wheel drive (AWD) for 2024. This helps the GV80 compete more effectively with European competitors like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Mercedes-Benz GLE, not to mention other premium midsize SUVs such as the Acura MDX, Lexus RX, and Lincoln Aviator.
What’s in the 2024 Genesis GV80’s favor? This head turner is as functional as it is luxurious and stylish, with a long list of standard equipment and tech. It also boasts three years of complimentary maintenance and an industry-leading powertrain warranty lasting 10 years or 100,000 miles.
As before, the Genesis GV80 offers a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower or a twin-turbo V6 that pumps out 375 hp. Both are refined powerplants that work well in everyday driving, with the V6 appealing more to enthusiastic drivers. On the downside, neither is especially thrifty.
The EPA rates the 2.5-liter 2024 GV80 at 20 mpg city/24 mpg highway/22 mpg combined. With the V6, that drops to 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway/20 mpg combined. We would welcome a hybrid or PHEV version of the GV80.

2024 Genesis GV80 2.5T AWD: $57,450
This is the GV80 with the 4-cylinder engine. But it’s a big 2.5-liter fed by a turbo, so it’s more than amply powered in everyday driving, aided by excellent low-end torque.
The engine sends 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. That power is harnessed in a stout GV80 chassis that benefits from self-leveling rear suspension and variable-ratio electric power steering. This Genesis SUV also profits from Drive Mode Select, with Comfort, Smart, Eco, Sport, and Custom settings that let GV80 drivers choose how their premium SUV responds.
Standard features abound. In addition to power-folding and auto-dimming heated side mirrors, the 2024 GV80 2.5T has LED headlights and taillights, plus other conveniences such as a hands-free power rear liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, and acoustic laminated front glass. You also get a proximity key fob, which lets you lock or unlock the doors by touching a button on the door handle. Once you’re inside, all you do is push a button to get the GV80 started.
Similarly, standard safety items are far from lacking on this most affordable GV80. While a forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian-and-cyclist detection) are more common these days, this Genesis also boasts a junction turning assist, which stops the GV80 from making a potentially dangerous left turn across oncoming traffic.
Other standard safety hardware includes lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, rear parking sensors, and Safe Exit Assist, which won’t let passengers exit the GV80 if it senses dangerous traffic approaching from behind.
Adaptive cruise control, another standard feature, also helps with safety, keeping the GV80 at a safe distance from the traffic ahead, even bringing the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary. Automatic high-beam headlights also assist, automatically dimming their beams when oncoming traffic is detected.
Comfort and convenience features are similarly impressive. There’s attractive leatherette on the seats and upper dash of the GV80 2.5T, wood trim, power front seats with lumbar support, and a 40/20/40 folding second-row seat.
Further underscoring the premium nature of this Genesis SUV are one-touch power windows, adjustable ambient interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and manual rear door sunshades.
A 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen takes center stage on the GV80 2.5T’s dash, complemented by an 8-inch digital instrument panel. Navigation is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker premium audio system. Four USB ports, two 12-volt outlets, a wireless smartphone charging pad, plus a 110-volt outlet in the second row conspire to keep you connected.
Two upgrade packages significantly elevate the feel of this Genesis SUV.
The Advanced Package ($6,500) adds leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, an overhead 360-degree monitor, a 21-speaker Lexicon audio system, and 20-inch alloy wheels with monobloc front brake calipers. It also includes a blind-spot view monitor (which projects an image of your rear 3-quarter blind spot onto the instrument panel whenever you signal to make a lane change) and Remote Smart Parking Assist (which allows you to parallel or perpendicular park the GV80 while you’re standing outside the vehicle with the key fob in hand).
The Prestige Package ($5,250), which requires the Advanced Package, adds electronically adaptive suspension, 22-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, 3-zone climate control, and heated second-row seats. You also get 16-way power front seats with power cushion extension, power side bolsters, and a massage feature for the driver.
With the $1,195 delivery charge, the 2024 Genesis GV80 2.5T AWD costs $58,645. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $1,107. See 2024 Genesis GV80 2.5T AWD models for sale near you
