Honda dips its toe into the electrified vehicle pond, teaming up with GM to build its first EV SUV, the 2024 Prologue. Although it shares its battery and electric motor technology with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the rest of the vehicle is pure Honda.
The front-drive Prologue can travel up to 296 miles on a charge, while all-wheel drive (AWD) versions range from 273 miles to 281. Honda offers the Prologue in three trims: EX, Touring, and Elite. EX and Touring trims are pulled by their front wheels and provide the option for AWD, which is standard on the Elite.
Like the Honda Passport, the 5-passenger Prologue provides plenty of room for people and cargo. Yet, its modest size makes maneuvering in crowded city confines easy.
Vying for your electric dollar are rivals like the Kia EV6, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Tesla Model Y, and Volkswagen ID.4.

Our Recommendation:
The EX offers the best value of the three trims, although if you want things like a premium audio system and panoramic moonroof, we’d upgrade to the Touring trim. Adding all-wheel drive improves traction and performance, but it comes at the expense of range. We’d opt not to go with AWD unless you live someplace where snow and slippery road conditions are a regular occurrence.

2024 Honda Prologue EX: $48,795 (FWD); $51,795 (AWD)
in Honda world, the EX is usually the midlevel offering. But, with the Prologue, Honda makes the EX the entry-level model, meaning that out-the-door, the Prologue comes nicely equipped.
The goodness starts with Honda’s commitment to driver and passenger safety wrapped up in the Honda Sensing driver-assist suite. The bundle includes forward collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot monitor with steering assist, rear cross-traffic detection with braking, lane-change alert, and reverse automatic braking.
Additional features include adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition technology, rear parking sensors, and automatic high-beam headlights.
