The 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid offers the same stylish exterior and modern interior as an Elantra without electric assistance but with a greener vibe, exceptional fuel economy, and none of the long charging times associated with owning an EV.
Under the Elantra Hybrid’s hood is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gas engine paired with an electric motor. The duo produces 139 horsepower and a 54 mpg combined fuel economy rating for the Blue trim (the Limited combined figure drops to 50 mpg). The Elantra Hybrid uses a proper 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), which we prefer over gas-only Elantra’s continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Buyers can choose between the nicely equipped Blue or loaded Limited trim. Both are equally well equipped for driver safety, rear legroom, and strong resale. They also come backed by Hyundai’s fantastic 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
If the Elantra isn’t your cup of tea, you have a few alternatives, including the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Let’s see which Elantra Hybrid looks best in your driveway.

What’s New:
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid gets a modest refresh highlighted by a new grille and front bumper, new wheel designs, and more interior soft-touch elements. The Limited gains a Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and front and rear parking sensors. The Blue gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 10.25-inch navigation/infotainment touchscreen.
New standard equipment includes rear-seat side-impact airbags, dual USB-C rear-seat charge ports, and dual LED projector headlights.
Our Recommendation:
Hyundai offers its Elantra HEV in only two trim levels. The base Blue trim is so well equipped that it includes most of today’s most popular convenience and safety features. For about $6,000 less than the Limited trim, the Blue grade is the better value.

2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Blue: $25,500 (estimated)
The Blue is the entry-level hybrid trim, although it mostly mimics the content of the gas-only Elantra SEL. As such, it comes with many cool features, making it the value leader over the Limited.
On the safety front, the Blue has automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Also standard on the Blue are lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, automatic high-beam headlights, safe-exit warning, and driver attention warning.
For 2024, Hyundai adds rear-seat side-impact airbags, rear seatbelt reminder, and a vibrating haptic steering wheel that works with the blind-zone alert, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Blue’s exterior highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels and a proximity key system that enables hands-free trunk release, push-button start, and unlocking the doors, all without removing the fob from your purse or pocket. There are also auto on/off LED headlights, heated side mirrors, variable intermittent windshield wipers, and heat-reflecting solar glass.
Moving inside, the Blue’s cabin has cloth upholstery covering manually adjustable heated front seats with manual driver’s seat height control. The rear seat features a single-piece folding backrest with fixed headrests.
Interior amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a driver’s auto-up/down power window, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and illuminated visor vanity mirrors on sliding sun visors. You’ll also get cruise control, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel.
The Blue’s audio system consists of a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Hyundai Bluelink+ connected services, which now come with no trial period expiration date. With Bluelink+, you can use a phone app to start or locate your car, get automatic crash notifications and SOS emergency services, and set parental controls that alert for excessive speed, distance warning, and breaking curfew. A Wi-Fi hot spot is also available.
Adding the $1,115 destination fee to the estimated Blue base price brings the total to about $26,615. With $0 down, financing for 60 months at 5% interest works out to about $502 per month. See 2024 Hyundai Elantra Blue models for sale near you
