The 2024 Hyundai Palisade has quickly made a name for itself. Since debuting as a 2020 model, the Palisade has become an incredibly popular 3-row SUV. Maybe it’s the distinctive styling, or perhaps buyers are drawn to the upscale interior and feature-rich content. In our view, the Palisade’s pricing certainly isn’t a deterrent, nor is the standard 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Hyundai offers the Palisade in six trims: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition.
A 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 is the only powertrain attached to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive (AWD) optional on all but the Calligraphy Night Edition, where it’s part of the standard equipment list.
A crowded field of competitors includes such venerable names as the Honda Pilot, Toyota Grand Highlander, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Prices provided are current at the time of publishing.
What’s New:
For 2024, a new Calligraphy Night Edition trim joins the Hyundai Palisade fleet. The SE trim gains dual-zone automatic climate controls with second-row automatic temperature controls, while the XRT trim adds second-row window sunshades.
The Limited trim gains 64-color ambient interior lighting.
Our Recommendation:
The Palisade SEL is our most logical choice. You can take it as it is for around $40,000, or opt for the Premium Package and drive off with a pretty nicely loaded SUV.

2024 Hyundai Palisade SE: $36,400 (FWD), $38,400 (AWD)
If you’re not all about high-tech features and luxury ad-ons, you may find the entry-level SE trim more than adequate for your needs. Its price certainly makes it attractive, especially compared to similar base model competitors lacking the SE’s standard content.
With seating for eight, the SE trim certainly hits the family-friendly mark. And with the family in mind, Hyundai loads the Palisade SE full of safety and driver-assist features, including second-row side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags covering all three rows.
On the driver-assist front, the SE includes a haptic feedback steering wheel that provides a tactile warning to drivers via subtle vibrations. Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and junction turning (warns when it’s unsafe to turn across traffic) and rear parking sensors are also onboard. The SE comes with lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, a blind-spot monitor with collision avoidance assist, and rear cross-traffic detection with emergency braking.
Driver-attention warning, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, and Safe Exit Assist are also standard.
Hyundai’s Intelligent Speed Limit Assist uses cameras to detect speed limit signs and warns the driver when they’ve exceeded the posted limit. We found the system a bit annoying after a while, especially the constant chiming for an infraction just one or two miles over the limit. The system can be turned off, which we would choose as our default.
At first glance, we think the SE trim looks anything but basic. Its handsome exterior includes little touches like satin chrome door handles and body-colored auto-dimming heated side mirrors featuring built-in turn signals.
The SE rides on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels and features standard LED headlights and daytime running lights, a body-colored rear spoiler, variable intermittent “aero-blade” wipers, rear privacy glass, and an acoustic laminated windshield.
A proximity keyless entry system lets you unlock the doors by touching the handle, provided you have the key fob in your purse or pocket. The key fob can also start the vehicle remotely.
Pop open the front door, and you’ll find comfortable cloth seating in black or gray with manually adjustable front seats, and one-touch-folding, 60/40-split bench seats in the second and third rows.
Conveniences include dual-zone automatic climate control with automatic temperature controls in the second row, auto up/down front power windows, power door locks, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a tilt/telescoping steering with controls for audio, cruise, and Bluetooth.
The interior features numerous storage areas, cup holders, and seven USB charging ports.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen anchors the infotainment setup, which includes built-in GPS navigation, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Hyundai Bluelink connected services included without a trial period or subscription fees.
Parents will love the rear seat quiet mode, which turns off the rear speakers so front passengers can enjoy music or news without waking sleeping kiddos.
AWD is the only SE factory-installed option. With it comes hill-descent control and a Snow driving mode.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the 2024 Hyundai Palisade SE’s base price brings the total to $37,735. With $0 down, financing for 60 months at 5% interest works out to $712 per month. See 2024 Hyundai Palisade SE models for sale near you

2024 Hyundai Palisade SEL: $39,150 (FWD), $41,150 (AWD)
The 7-passenger Hyundai Palisade SEL represents the highest value among the Palisade trim levels. Not only does it come with more advanced features, but it also offers an array of options.
Building off the SE, the SEL adds roof rails, H-Tex leatherette upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable front seats with driver’s 2-way power lumbar support, heated front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Also included are an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a hands-free smart liftgate, a wireless smartphone charger, a HomeLink universal garage remote, and an ultrasonic rear occupant detection system that can alert the driver if it detects motion after everyone (supposedly) has exited the vehicle.
Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch turns your smartphone into a key, enabling it to unlock and start the car. You can also share your key with friends and family, enabling their phones to access and start your car. It also works with Apple Watches.
You can up the SEL’s content list significantly with the Premium Package, which includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch full-digital multi-information instrument cluster, a blind-spot view monitor, a surround-view monitor, front parking sensors, third-row USB outlets, a 115-volt outlet and Highway Driving Assist 2 semi-autonomous driving assistant.
Also included is a power-folding and reclining third-row seat, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, a power sunroof, and a memory driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support. But wait, there’s more.
The forward collision avoidance system gains front cross-traffic detection, the rear doors get manual sunshades, and the infotainment system adds an in-car intercom so the driver can communicate with rear-seat passengers.
You can swap the second-row captain’s chairs for the 60/40-split folding bench seat. This no-charge option puts the passenger count back to eight.
