The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a rugged and upscale midsize 3-row SUV. It’s one of the more family-friendly models in the Jeep lineup. When equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD), it has all the legendary off-road capability associated with the brand.
The Grand Cherokee L is 11.4 inches longer and a bit wider than a standard Grand Cherokee, with a wheelbase extended five inches. It competes primarily with 3-row SUVs like the Subaru Ascent and other rugged 3-row SUVs like the Honda Pilot TrailSport, the X-Pro models of the Kia Telluride, and the new Chevy Traverse Z71. In the upper trims, the Grand Cherokee L is priced similarly to some 3-row luxury SUVs like the Lincoln Aviator, Cadillac XT6, and Acura MDX.
This Autotrader Trim Review focuses exclusively on the 3-row Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The V6-powered and 4xe plug-in hybrid versions of the standard-length 2-row Grand Cherokee are reviewed separately.
