The 2024 Lexus LS wraps occupants in the finest materials and technology and touts a resale and reliability résumé that is the envy of the industry. Lexus keeps the buying process simple, limiting trims to just three: LS 500, LS 500 F Sport, and LS 500h Hybrid. Gas-only models offer the choice between rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive, with AWD standard on the LS 500h Hybrid.
Those shopping the field will likely notice that the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S Class carry significantly higher prices, especially when you start loading up options. Those willing to roll the dice on a relative newcomer should take a long look at the Genesis G90, which offers more standard equipment and a better warranty.
Powering the LS is a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 producing V8-like performance and hustle. Really, though, the LS is more about being a smooth operator. The hybrid model uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with two electric motors.
Let’s look closer and see which 2024 Lexus LS is best for you.

2024 Lexus LS 500: $79,335 (RWD), $82,585 (AWD)
Befitting its luxury car status, Lexus equips the LS with dozens of upscale luxury features, including an impressively long list of high-tech equipment. For those not needing a sportier feel, the LS 500 is pretty much everything a luxury buyer wants, which explains why it is the most popular of the three trims.
Along with its twin-turbocharged engine, the LS 500 has an adaptive variable suspension for a smooth, controlled ride over any surface.
With an eye toward improved driver safety, Lexus makes its Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 standard. The suite brings forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and left-turn oncoming vehicle detection. Lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control with curve management, and road-sign assist are also included. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert add further safety. The Intuitive Parking Assist uses sensors to detect obstacles when parking; it will sound an alarm or even apply the brakes if needed.
A quick walk around the LS 500 reveals handsome 19-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lights (adaptive auto on/off headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights), and rain-sensing wipers. Also included are a hands-free power trunk lid and a power moonroof. Combatting glare at night are auto-dimming mirrors (rearview and outboard).
Moving to the interior, we find new standard features like a 10-inch head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a wireless charging pad. Digital Key technology lets owners turn their smartphone into a key to unlock, start, and drive the car.
Dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated leather-wrapped power-adjustable steering wheel, and a rear power sunshade are also standard. Also included is proximity keyless entry with push-button start and 16-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats.
A round knob on the center console controls the Drive Mode Select. Your selected mode influences throttle response, power output, steering response, suspension response, and climate control.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen oversees the infotainment system, including a 12-speaker audio system, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto.
The voice-activated Intelligent Assistant offers hands-free Bluetooth connectivity. The system also includes satellite radio and Wi-Fi hot spot capability. The Drive Connect app expands driver assistance with features like Traffic Jam Assist. Most apps come with extended free trial periods of up to 10 years and require a 4G subscription.
Lexus offers several options packages that increase the luxury and comfort of the driver and passenger experience for both the LS 500 and LS 500 F Sport.
The Interior Upgrade Package adds quilted semi-aniline leather trim, 28-way power front seats with massage and cushion extender, heated rear seats, a power lift-up buckle, a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, and unique wood and leather accents.
The Luxury Package builds off the Interior Upgrade Package, adding 18-way power reclining rear seats divided by a center armrest with a built-in 7-inch touchscreen controller, remote adjustment for passenger seats, 28-way massaging front seats, power side window sunshades, rear-seat side airbags, and a variable adaptive air suspension.
The Executive Package builds off the Luxury Package, adding a rear passenger seat lounge chair with a sliding ottoman and multifunction Shiatsu massager. Also in the mix are 22-way power-adjustable rear seats with butterfly headrests, heat, and massage. A Panoramic View Monitor and an Ultrasuede headliner round out the more notable features.
Other upgrades include the Lexus Safety System+ A enhanced driver assist package, Advanced Park self-parking system, a panoramic moonroof, a Cold Weather Package (heated wipers, headlight washer, quick-response interior heater), and 4-zone climate control. Also available are 19- and 20-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and Haku door trim.
