The 2024 Lexus RZ is a compact electric luxury SUV ideal for those looking to get out of their gas-powered vehicle and who don’t suffer from range anxiety. The RZ shares its platform with the Toyota bZ4X but adds more luxury touches to better compete with the Tesla Model Y, BMW iX, Cadillac Lyriq, and Volvo C40 Recharge.
What’s New:
A lower-price RZ 300e model joins the lineup. Powered by its 18-inch front wheels, the RZ 300e costs $4,700 less than its all-wheel drive (AWD) counterpart and extends the base RZ’s range from 220 miles to 266 (224 with 20-inch wheels). Although its smaller 150-kilowatt onboard charger means charging times will be significantly longer than most competitors, even when using a DC fast charging station.
Some new paint options, a dual-voltage charging cable for 120V/240V outlets, and additional driver-assist systems for the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite round out the 2024 updates.
Our Recommendation:
We think the RZ 300e Premium is a great buy. If you can live without fancy add-ons, you can save a bundle by opting for the Core Package, which deletes several upscale features. We like the 300e over the 450e for its extended range, but if horsepower and a need for all-wheel drive (AWD) top your checklist, the RZ 450e Premium is the way to go.

2024 Lexus RZ 300e Premium: $55,150
The 2024 Lexus RZ 300e uses a single electric motor powering its front wheels. Horsepower is rated at 201; the estimated range expands to 266 miles when riding on the standard 18-inch alloy wheels.
Being a Lexus, the RZ naturally has a proximity key fob that allows unlocking the doors by touching the door handle and starting the car by simply pushing a button. An available Smart Access key card performs the same functions. It’s less bulky than the fob and fits nicely in a wallet or purse.
Other notable standard features include LED headlights, heated side mirrors, 18-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, a panorama glass roof, and a gesture-activated power liftgate.
The RZ’s minimalist cabin design includes NuLuxe synthetic leather trim in three colors: Palomino, Dapple Gray/Black, and Thunderstorm/Macadamia. Further RZ features include a configurable digital instrument cluster and single-color ambient door panel lighting.
Standard amenities include 8-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, 2-way power lumbar support for the driver, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The RZ features a power tilt/telescopic heated steering with controls laid out to align with the available head-up display.

It combines a 107-hp electric motor at the rear with the base 201-hp electric motor at the front for a combined 308 horsepower. The DIRECT4 system continuously analyzes feedback from wheel sensors and regulates power at each wheel to maximize grip. The maximum expected range drops to 220 miles.

2024 Lexus RZ 300e Luxury: $60,880
The Luxury trim builds off the Premium, adding more standard luxury features we think some Lexus buyers might demand. With its 20-inch wheels, the maximum estimated range for this trim is 224 miles.
Standard upgrades include Tsuyasumi interior trim, Ultrasuede seat fabric, multicolor ambient interior lighting, heated rear seats, and a radiant front knee heater.
The Luxury trim gains the contents from the Premium’s Technology Package, along with acoustic side glass and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.
