2024 Lincoln Corsair: Choosing the Right Trim

Lincoln packs its best luxury and technology features into the Corsair, a compact SUV perfect for those desiring cutting-edge technology and fuel economy in a vehicle better suited to the confines of urban living.

Distinctively American in styling, ride, and handling, the Corsair isn’t as athletic as the Acura RDX, BMW X3, or Porsche Macan. Still, it stacks up well when placed alongside the Cadillac XT4, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Lexus NX.

Among the Corsair’s more attractive attributes are its smooth ride, available plug-in hybrid powertrain, and optional BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving program.

The Premiere and Reserve trims offer a choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) powered by a peppy turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 250 horsepower. The top-line Grand Touring offers a more tempting option: a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine teamed with two electric motors for a combined output of 266 hp.

The Grand Touring is a plug-in hybrid, meaning it can charge at home and travel up to 28 miles solely on electric power, a figure we found accurate for all but the most aggressive driving style.

What’s New:

The base Corsair is now the Premiere. Lincoln’s BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system increases the complimentary trial period from two years to four, after which owners must pay a yearly subscription fee.

Our Recommendation:

The best Lincoln Corsair trim is the Premiere. It offers almost all upper-level trim options, allowing access to luxury buyers’ desired features but with a lower base price. Those looking for a greener mode of transport should hop straight to the Corsair Grand Touring.

2024 Lincoln Corsair Premiere: $38,730 (FWD), $41,030 (AWD)

The most popular of the three Lincoln Corsair trims, the Premiere provides a high level of luxury and refinement without breaking the $40,000 mark. The secret to the Premier’s success is the unusually lengthy options menu, a strategy we like because it allows greater personalization without having to move up to a more expensive trim.

The 2024 Lincoln Corsa Premiere features a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Lincoln adds an auto start/stop feature to help save on gas. Torque vectoring is used to improve vehicle stability in corners.

A tour around the Premiere exterior reveals attractive 18-inch alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear privacy glass, auto-folding heated side mirrors, and a power liftgate. Auto on/off LED headlamps provide superior illumination, part of the Lincoln Embrace system that includes illuminated door handles, approach lighting, and a signature light show that delights every time you approach the vehicle.

With the remote fob in your pocket, you need only touch the door handle to unlock the vehicle. Once inside, a push of a button starts the engine. Lincoln’s SecuriCode keypad offers another way to open the vehicle, employing a lighted keypad in the door’s pillar that accepts a 6-digit PIN.

We’re impressed with Premiere’s standard content. Among our favorites are the heated power front seats with power lumbar support (10-way driver’s seat, 8-way passenger). The driver’s seat has memory settings for the seat and mirrors. In back, the Corsair offers a reclining 60/40 seat that can slide forward or back.

Although leather upholstery is reserved for the higher trims, the Premiere’s synthetic leather is nearly as lovely. Soft-touch surfaces abound, and genuine leather covers the manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel.

Additional Premiere amenities include dual-zone automatic climate controls (with a pollen filter) and side windows that can be remotely lowered using the key fob. You also get a remote start, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and two illuminated USB charge ports (Type-A and Type-C) in the front console.

There’s also a rear seat USB-C charge port and two 12-volt outlets, one in the front console and one in the cargo bay.

A 10-speaker Lincoln Premium audio system oversees music delivery, which can stream from your phone via wired Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The Sync 4 infotainment system includes an AM/FM/MP3 stereo, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice-activated navigation, and access to Lincoln Connect apps.

Accessing these features is easy, thanks to the brilliant 13.2-inch touchscreen sitting prominently atop the dash. The system also stores personal profiles with memory settings for the driver’s seat, mirrors, audio settings, displays, and driver assist features.

Active Noise Cancellation uses the car’s speakers to counteract annoying noise frequencies that can creep into the cabin.

Finally, we come to the Premiere’s safety systems. Along with a full complement of airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, Lincoln adds Co-Pilot360 2.1, a complete suite of driver-assist systems designed to make travel less fraught.

The group contains forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and intersection assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and evasive steering assist.

Also included are automatic high-beam headlights, a blind-spot monitor that provides for trailer coverage, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and adaptive cruise control with stop/go and speed sign recognition.

As if this wasn’t enough, Lincoln offers a bevy of upgrades, primarily contained in a few packages.

Opt for the Collection II package, and you’ll get a hands-free power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers with de-icers, heated and ventilated front seats, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with remote garage door opener, auto-dimming side mirrors, and a heated, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel.

Also included is a 60/40 Easy-Fold rear seat with power seatback release, a wireless charging pad, and 18-inch dark tarnish finish alloy wheels. Rounding out the Collection II package is an app that turns your phone into a key and Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.1 Vision, which features a 360-degree camera monitor, reverse brake assist, and side parking sensors.

The Collection III package builds off the above features with a panoramic Vista Roof moonroof with power sunshade, Auto Air Refresh climate control, heated rear seats, and a 14-speaker Revel audio system. A head-up display is also in the mix.

The Collection III’s best feature, however, is Lincoln’s BlueCruise highway driving assistant, a feature providing hands-free driving on select highways covering over 130,000 miles nationwide and in Canada. BlueCruise also comes attached with Active Park Assist 2.0 self-parking aid; an enhanced intersection assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and a driver attention monitor.

Standalone options include the Vista Roof, 18- and 19-inch wheel upgrades, a tow package, and a Jet Appearance Package with 20-inch black alloy wheels and blackout trim.

With the $1,395 destination charge, the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Premiere costs $40,125. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $757. See 2024 Lincoln Corsair Premiere models for sale near you

2024 Lincoln Corsair Reserve: $43,115 (FWD), $45,415 (AWD)

Moving up to the Corsair Reserve means leather upholstery, LED signature taillights (fade on/off), jeweled adaptive LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and premium ambient interior lighting.

2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring: $53,925

Charging the battery takes three to four hours using a 240-volt Level 2 charger. When running on battery power alone, the Grand Touring can travel about 28 miles before the gas engine kicks in.

Building off the Reserve trim, the Grand Touring adds the Vista Roof panoramic power moonroof, 19-inch alloy wheels, upgraded soft-touch door trim, adaptive suspension, and an EV pedestrian sounder that makes noise when in electric mode so pedestrians and cyclists can hear you coming.
