Given the price difference is only a few thousand dollars, we’d pick the Eclipse Cross SE over the ES and LE trims. It offers enough features to satisfy most buyers, more standard driver assists, and an available panoramic sunroof.

2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross ES: $26,345
The entry-level ES surprises with its feature-rich standard content list, adding things like heated side mirrors, LED headlights, and LED fog lights at no extra cost.
On the flip side, the ES trim isn’t as generous as the Honda HR-V or Kia Seltos regarding standard driver assists, offering only forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, low-speed automatic emergency braking, and a lane departure warning.
If you want automatic high-beam headlights or adaptive cruise control, move to one of the more expensive trims.
Other safety features include complete airbag coverage with a driver’s knee airbag, a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitor, and a hill start assist.
The ES comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear wiper/washer, dark-tinted rear privacy glass, remote keyless entry, a rear roof spoiler, and body-colored mirrors and door handles.
The cabin is equally well organized and includes cloth upholstery, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, an auto up/down power driver’s window, a color multi-information display, automatic climate controls, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with controls for cruise, Bluetooth, and audio.

The SE is our favorite trim. Not much more expensive than LE, the SE brings the Eclipse Cross up to speed with rival crossovers, with standard features like adaptive cruise control, a hands-free power liftgate, and high-speed automatic emergency braking.
Additional driver aids include blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
The SE brings automatic on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding side mirrors, an electric parking brake with auto hold, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
Interior upgrades such as illuminated door panels, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and synthetic suede upholstery make the cabin feel more luxurious, as do lighted visor vanity mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The infotainment system gains two more speakers for a total of six. It also picks up GPS navigation.
