2024 Nissan Murano: Choosing the Right Trim

If you’re a style fan and want to make a statement, the 2024 Nissan Murano 2-row SUV might suit you. While the Murano’s interior lacks certain modern features, such as a digital instrument cluster and oversized infotainment touchscreen, that in no way detracts from the Murano’s ability to carry five passengers in comfort and refined style.

Nissan offers the Murano in three trims, all powered by a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine hooked to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). All-wheel drive is optional across the range.

Nissan doesn’t offer a hybrid or plug-in hybrid Murano, so if you’re considering going in that direction, something like the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid or Toyota Venza might be better. Those looking to cross-shop other non-hybrid SUV competitors should look to the Ford Edge, Chevrolet Blazer, and Honda Passport.

What’s New:

For 2024, Nissan narrowed the Murano trim range to three well-equipped choices: SV, SL, and Platinum. The SL gains a panoramic moonroof, and the Midnight Edition becomes a package offered on the SV.

Our Recommendation:

The SL trim has just about everything you need in a modern SUV. You can add the Midnight Edition Package for a more distinct look. Music lovers may wish to upgrade to the SV or Platinum for the Bose audio system.

2024 Nissan Murano SV: $37,920 (FWD), $39,620 (AWD)

The SV starts the show with many features, including cutting-edge driver assist systems. In Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic detection, rear automatic braking, and lane-departure warning with a haptic steering wheel that vibrates to alert the driver.

Additional systems include automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver attention monitor, and hill start assist.

Full airbag coverage includes front, front and rear side-impact, 2-row side-curtains, and front knee airbags. There’s a system to remind rear-seat passengers to buckle up and another to remind the driver to check the backseat for pets or kids before exiting the vehicle.

The handsome SV touts 18-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, LED fog lights, black roof rails, and rear privacy glass. Heated power side mirrors are standard, as is Nissan’s Intelligent Key proximity key fob that automatically unlocks the doors when you touch the handle. You can start the vehicle remotely and activate pre-set climate controls to cool or heat the cabin before you get in. You can also turn on the front and rear defrosters.

The Nissan Murano SV cabin has comfortable soft-touch surfaces to rest your hand, arm, or elbow without worry. Leatherette upholstery looks and feels like leather but will probably hold up better over time. It covers a heated 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support and a 4-way power passenger seat. A 60/40 split-folding rear seat adds to the utility of the Murano.

Amenities include a leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel with controls for the cruise, audio, and Bluetooth. Dual-zone automatic climate control comes standard, as do rear seat air vents, a push-button starter, and one-touch up/down front power windows with remote front windows down feature.

The SV’s infotainment system includes an 8-inch color touchscreen monitor and a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA audio system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are here, as are Siri Eyes Free and SiriusXM satellite radio.

The system even allows voice activation to find music within certain apps or with the hands-free text messaging assistant. The Murano includes two USB-A, two USB-C ports, and an auxiliary input jack.

A 7-inch driver-information digital display sits between the electroluminescent speedometer and tachometer.

The SV can be ordered with a Midnight Edition package with a black grille, black mirror caps, black badges, illuminated kick plates, and gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels.

With the $1,335 destination fee, the 2024 Nissan Murano SV costs $39,255. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $741. See 2024 Nissan Murano SV models for sale near you

10-way power driver’s seat – This multi-adjustable seat allows drivers of all sizes to get comfortable, with 2-way power lumbar adding lower back support.

Adaptive cruise control – This advanced cruise control system regulates the speed and controls the distance to the car directly ahead, slowing down or speeding up as necessary. The system can even bring the Murano to a complete stop if needed.

2024 Nissan Murano SL: $41,880 (FWD), $43,580 (AWD)

The SL builds on the SV’s content, adding more luxury and high-tech features.

The Murano SL upgrades with a 360-degree Around View monitor, traffic sign recognition, a panoramic glass moonroof, 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, and a motion-activated power liftgate.

Genuine leather covers the SL’s seats, which get two-position memory for the driver and heat for the two outer rear seating positions. A heated steering wheel is also standard, and the side mirrors tilt down in reverse.

Adjustable interior ambient lighting lets you set the mood, while built-in navigation guides you without needing a cell signal. A 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link further enriches the SL’s content, as does a magnificent sounding 11-speaker Bose audio system with a dual-driver subwoofer.

Options for the Nissan Murano SL include 20-inch dark alloy wheels, Nissan Virtual Key (turns your phone into a key), a class II hitch and receiver, and numerous dealer-installed accessories, including a hatch tent, Yakima hitch-mounted bike rack, and a dual-camera drive recorder.

With the $1,335 destination fee, the 2024 Nissan Murano SL costs $43,215. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $816. See 2024 Nissan Murano SL models for sale near you

Bose audio – This 11-speaker sound system includes Bose’s best technology, creating a dynamic surround sound experience with impressive bass from the dual subwoofers.

Heated rear seats – The SL’s heated outboard rear seats give the same comfort and convenience as the front passengers.

2024 Nissan Murano Platinum: $45,930 (FWD), $47,630 (AWD)

The Platinum trim adds every feature in the Murano arsenal, with the only option being satin-black 20-inch wheels and illuminated kick plates.

Nissan’s Connected Services are available with a 3-year trial Select and 6-month Premium Plus packages.

2024 Nissan Murano Platinum includes:

Ventilated front seats – These circulate cool air through the seat cushions, helping keep your clothes from getting sweat-stained on hot summer days.

Power tilt/telescoping steering wheel – The Platinum’s power steering column is part of the driver’s seat memory, so you never have to hunt for your favorite position after someone else has been driving the car.

Panoramic moonroof – The Platinum’s dual-panel moonroof covers both rows, opening the interior to additional sunlight. The front panel opens for fresh air.
