The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder continues to impress with its roomy interior, class-leading towing capability, and well-rounded trim offerings. The mix includes the base S, value-oriented SV, upscale SL, plush Platinum, and light-off-road-capable Rock Creek.
Regardless of trim, the Nissan Pathfinder has a potent 3.5-liter V6 engine generating 284 horsepower (295 hp in the Rock Creek trim), sending power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional across the range and is standard on the Rock Creek trim.
When properly equipped, the Nissan Pathfinder 3-row SUV can tow up to 6,000 pounds, 1,000 pounds more than the Honda Pilot or Toyota Grand Highlander, and 400 pounds more than the Ford Explorer. Other competitors of note include the Kia Telluride, Chevrolet Traverse, and Volkswagen Atlas.

What’s New:
Besides a few revised option packages, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder remains unchanged. Fog lights are now an extra cost option on the SL and Platinum trims. At the same time, features like the wireless charging pad, tow package, Bose audio, and 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster can be deleted from applicable packages for credit.
Our Recommendation:
Although the Pathfinder SL has several upgrades, the SV is the best value. It comes with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, adaptive cruise control, and ProPilot Assist, costing about $3,000 less than the SL.

2024 Nissan Pathfinder S: $35,810 (FWD), $37,710 (AWD)
The least expensive Pathfinder is the entry-level S. It’s ideal for people who need a roomy and comfortable SUV but not many fancy add-ons.
In addition to its V6 engine and 9-speed automatic transmission, the Pathfinder S includes a 5-position terrain and driving mode selector with settings for Snow, Towing, Eco, Automatic, and Sport. Hill Start Assist and Hill Hold Control are also included.
Opting for AWD brings two additional modes: Sand and Mud/Rut. Hill Descent Control helps prevent unintended acceleration when traversing steep terrain.
A quick walk around the Pathfinder S exterior reveals 18-inch painted alloy wheels, automatic on/off LED headlights with front-wiper-linked activation, rear privacy glass, and power side mirrors.
Nissan’s Intelligent Key keyless entry allows locking and unlocking the doors and hatch simply by having the key fob in your purse or pocket. The system includes various settings so you can open the doors simply by touching the handle or have the doors unlock upon approach and automatically lock as you walk away.
The S has complete airbag protection on the safety front, including driver and front passenger knee airbags and rear seat side-impact airbags.
To this list, Nissan adds forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, rear parking sensors with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Many of these features have an audible warning, but the Pathfinder also transmits alerts via slight vibrations from the haptic steering wheel.
The list includes a rearview monitor, tire pressure monitors at all four wheels, and a rear seatbelt reminder.
The Pathfinder S cabin features 8-passenger seating in a 2-3-3 configuration. Durable cloth covers the seats, which include a 6-way manual driver’s seat with manual lumbar support. Nissan’s Latch and Glide 60/40-split sliding second-row seats move fore and aft, helping create more legroom for third-row seat occupants when needed.
Notable amenities include a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control with second-row climate controls, a 7-inch digital driver information display (resides between the analog speedometer and tachometer), and illuminated power window and door lock switches.
A 6-speaker stereo comes standard attached to an 8-inch color touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also included are SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth streaming audio, Siri Eyes Free, and hands-free texting technology.
There are no factory options for the Pathfinder S.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the S base price costs $37,145. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $701. See 2024 Nissan Pathfinder S models for sale near you
2024 Nissan Pathfinder S includes:
Intelligent Key – If the key fob is on your person, the doors automatically unlock when you approach. Push-button start pairs with proximity keyless entry.
Tri-zone automatic climate control – Separating the vehicle into three areas (front right, front left, and rear), tri-zone climate control lets you set the temperatures for each section.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – These apps allow your smartphone to interface with your vehicle. You can access the music on your phone and send and receive messages, make calls, and so forth through your vehicle’s media system.
2023 Nissan Pathfinder SV: $38,630 (FWD), $40,530 (AWD)
From the Pathfinder S, the SV adds features like heated outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. Helping the driver find the ideal driving position is a 10-way power-adjustable seat. Remote start also joins the equipment lineup.
The SV adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot intervention to a rich assortment of safety technology. Nissan also includes ProPilot Assist, which is a semi-autonomous driver-aid technology. Under certain conditions, it can steer, accelerate, and brake the Pathfinder. NissanConnect gives you access to the Pathfinder through your mobile device.
For an extra $2,170, you can add the SV Premium Package. It gains you a panoramic moonroof, a power rear liftgate, a tow-hitch receiver, 6,000-pound max towing, second-row captain’s chairs, and a removable rear-seat center console.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the SV base price costs $39,965. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $754. See 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SV models for sale near you
2024 Nissan Pathfinder SV includes:
- Remote start – You can start the Pathfinder from outside with the key fob within range. It’s handy for precooling the vehicle in summer and preheating it in winter.
- Mirrors with integrated turn signals – These are heated power outboard mirrors with turn signals installed on their outer shell.
- Available second-row captain’s chairs – Two individual high-back seats replace the Pathfinder’s standard bench, reducing the total passenger count from eight to seven.
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek: $43,630
Nissan says the Pathfinder Rock Creek nods to buyers seeking a higher level of fun and adventure. Indeed, it does provide an off-road-tuned suspension with a 5/8-inch lift and beadlock-style 18-inch alloy wheels wearing aggressive all-terrain tires.
It also comes standard with AWD, which automatically transfers torque between the front and rear axles.
This driver-selectable system has seven driving modes that include Snow, Sand, and Mud/Rut. Even though Nissan calls it 4WD (as opposed to AWD), the Pathfinder system doesn’t offer a locking differential or low-range gearing for serious off-roading. You’ll have to select an Armada, Frontier, Titan, or Titan XD to get those mechanicals.
Most of the other added features are more cosmetic. They include a tubular roof rack, a unique front fascia and grille, Rock Creek seat fabric with orange stitching, and Rock Creek badging. Also standard is a version of Nissan’s surround-view camera with an off-roading mode. In the off-roading mode, the camera displays an image of the ground in front of the vehicle. It’s a virtual spotter of sorts.
Nissan also includes a hitch receiver with a 6,000-pound towing capacity, second-row captain’s chairs, a removable second-row center console, and LED fog lights.
There are no factory-installed options.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the Rock Creek base price brings the total to $44,965. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $849. See 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek models for sale near you
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek includes:
- All-wheel drive – The Pathfinder can be shifted into AWD manually. The Rock Creek may not be designed for rugged rock crawling, but it can handle off-roading beyond the typical crossover SUV.
- Off-Road Intelligent Around View Monitor – This system, providing a 360-degree view around the Pathfinder, has a special off-roading feature. When you shift into AWD, a camera displays the terrain immediately in front of Rock Creek at speeds below 8 mph.
- Roof rack – The Rock Creek’s tubular roof rack has a 220-pound capacity.
2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL: $42,230 (FWD), $44,130 (AWD)
Except for the surround-view camera and LED fog lights, the SL loses all of Rock Creek’s added features and builds off of the SV.
The SL gains 18-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, leather seating, and a 10-way power-adjustable passenger seat. Also included are a power rear liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a HomeLink transceiver, and wireless phone charging.
Nissan upgrades its ProPilot Assist with a navigation function that anticipates upcoming curves and adjusts the speed accordingly. It also adds traffic sign recognition and front-park assist to the driver-aid technologies.
An upgraded infotainment system includes a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, traffic updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Oddly, Nissan doesn’t upgrade Android Auto to wireless. A fifth USB port provides the third row with charging capabilities. The rear cargo area receives a 12-volt power port.
You can add LED fog lights for $345. Pitch in another $2,990 if you want the SL Premium Package. It features a panoramic moonroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, a hitch receiver, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. Second-row captain’s chairs with a removable center console and heated rear seats complete the package. You can also order the package without the Bose system.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the SL base price brings the total to $43,565. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $822. See 2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL models for sale near you
2024 Nissan Pathfinder SL includes:
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror – Using photosensors, it recognizes bright headlights closing from behind, then automatically dims their reflection.
- Power rear liftgate – Opening with a push of a button, this liftgate also includes a height adjustment.
- Traffic sign recognition – A front-pointing camera captures images of traffic signs along the road. It matches these images with its database. When it recognizes a critical sign, such as a speed limit, it flashes the information on one of the vehicle’s displays.
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum: $48,780 (FWD), $50,680 (AWD)
The most luxurious of Pathfinder models, the Platinum builds on the SL’s content with all the features in the SL Premium Package except for the captain’s chairs. Other upgrades are a steering wheel wrapped in premium leather, semi-aniline leather seating, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding outboard mirrors.
Also included are a power-adjustable steering wheel, driver memory for the seat and outboard mirrors, a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Rounding out the Platinum equipment is a hands-free power rear liftgate, heated rear 60/40 bench seats, ventilated front seats, a 120-volt outlet, a front-seat center-mounted airbag, and a sixth USB port.
The LED fog lights are still available. Moreover, for $550, you may add the second-row captain’s chairs with a removable center console.
Adding the $1,335 destination fee to the Platinum base price costs $50,115. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $946. See 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum models for sale near you
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum includes:
- Bose audio system – A 13-speaker system with a subwoofer, this Bose stereo delivers concert-like sound.
- Rain-sensing wipers – When the system senses moisture on the windshield, it automatically engages the wipers. The wiper speed adjusts according to the volume of the rain.
- Hands-free power liftgate – With the key fob on your person, the liftgate automatically opens when you stick your foot under the rear bumper.
