The 2024 Subaru Impreza is all-new for 2024. Available exclusively as a 5-door hatchback, the new Impreza continues to be an affordable, fuel-efficient car with a roomy interior, loads of standard safety equipment, and impressive resale and reliability numbers.
Subaru’s standard all-wheel drive (AWD) gives the Impreza traction in all weather conditions, making it an acceptable alternative for those needing a versatile interior but not interested in driving a compact SUV.
Changes go beyond new external styling and interior upgrades. For one, Subaru has dropped the Impreza sedan. Sadly, the manual transmission option also gets put out to pasture, but a sporty new RS trim is added, touting a more powerful 2.5-liter engine.
Based on a recent drive, we can state this new 2024 Subaru Impreza has taken a big step up in refinement, thanks largely to a stronger new chassis, a significantly quieter cabin, and a more supple ride that doesn’t come at the expense of handling agility.
The Impreza has few direct competitors. The closest are the all-wheel-drive Mazda3 and Toyota Prius hybrid, which cost significantly more than the Impreza Base. The Toyota Corolla Hybrid offers all-wheel drive but in a sedan, not a hatchback.
2024 Subaru Impreza Base: $22,995
The Impreza Base trim features a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making 152 horsepower. It’s paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and standard AWD.
Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite comes standard, bringing forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and advanced adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.
Other safety systems include steering-responsive LED headlights with automatic high beams and wiper activation, a rear seat reminder, and a rear backup camera.
The Impreza Base features 16-inch steel wheels with full covers, remote keyless entry, power side mirrors, a rear wiper/washer, and a tire repair kit (replaces the spare tire).
The Impreza cabin is a mix of features. In a base-model car, cloth-covered manually operated front seats are expected, as are a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, auto up/down power front windows, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat.
Unexpected features include dual-zone automatic climate controls, a 4.2-inch color display screen between the speedometer and tachometer, and twin 7-inch touchscreens for operating the multimedia and climate controls.
On the media front, the Impreza features the Starlink system with a 4-speaker AM/FM/HD Radio, Bluetooth streaming, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The system includes one USB-A charge port and one auxiliary input jack.
The only factory option for the base Impreza is 16-inch alloy wheels.
With the $1,090 destination charge, the 2024 Subaru Impreza costs $24,085. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to $455. See 2024 Subaru Impreza Base models for sale near you

2024 Subaru Impreza Sport: $24,995
The Sport retains the same engine as the base Impreza but adds an upgraded CVT with an 8-speed manual mode shifter. It also has a few more features that make it the better choice.
The Sport includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a sport suspension, SI-Drive modes, steering wheel paddle shifters, and LED fog lights.
Subaru’s Keyless Access lets you unlock the doors without having the key fob in hand and start the car with a button push.
The cabin gains premium black cloth upholstery with red stitching, a rear seat center armrest with cupholders, and a front console USB-C charge port.
The most noticeable interior upgrade is the 11.6-inch touchscreen that incorporates climate and multimedia screens into a single unit. This system also opens the door to Starlink connected services that allow for remote start, service reminders, roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle recovery, among others.
The audio system gains two more speakers for a total of six.
Additional features in the Sport include a sound-insulating windshield, illuminated power window switches on all four doors, an illuminated glove box, and a high-grade combination meter with a 4.2-inch color LCD.
Optional on the Sport is an upgrade package that adds a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, automatic emergency steering, a power moonroof, and the All-Weather Package, which features heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and heated wipers.
With the $1,090 destination charge, the 2024 Subaru Impreza Sport costs $26,085. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to $492. See 2024 Subaru Impreza Sport models for sale near you
