Don’t let the Corolla name fool you. The 2024 Toyota GR Corolla is a track-ready performer with its sights set on cars like the Honda Civic Type R and Volkswagen Golf R. Toyota offers the GR Corolla in three trims: Core, Premium, and Circuit Edition. All are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 3-cylinder engine (you read that right, just three pistons) and feature an advanced all-wheel-drive (AWD) system producing impressive grip. A 6-speed manual is the only transmission choice.
For die-hard driving enthusiasts, the GR Corolla checks all the boxes. Most people will be quite happy with the base Core model with perhaps a few options added in, but for die-hard driving enthusiasts, the Circuit Edition is the one to get. The Premium splits the difference, adding more performance and amenities while doubling as a comfortable daily driver.

What’s New:
A new Premium trim joins the 2024 Toyota GR Corolla lineup, adding features like front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials, heated front seats, and a JBL audio system. Last year’s Morizo Edition will not return for 2024, but the Circuit Edition remains.
While the 2024 GR Corolla received a few modest changes to improve handling and aerodynamics, Toyota, later in 2024, will expand its line of official Gazoo Racing performance parts, allowing for better customization with components such as lowering springs and a rear wing.

The GR Corolla in Premium trim is the best bang for your buck. It brings the Torsen limited-slip differentials from the Core model’s optional Performance Package, plus nice upgrades like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and JBL audio.

2024 Toyota GR Corolla Core: $36,100
The Core represents the most basic GR Corolla. But it does offer some upgrades for those looking to improve performance on wet or dry pavement.
Performance enhancements include a sport suspension, sport steering setup, 4-piston front brake calipers with vented and slotted rotors (2-piston at the back), and three AWD selectable power settings: Front, Rear, and Track.
Your purchase includes a 1-year complimentary National Auto Sports Association (NASA) membership that provides one free high-performance driving experience.
Despite being a manual-only car, the GR Corolla gets some advanced driver-assist features. Most notable is Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0, a suite of technology that includes pre-collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, and lane-keeping assist.
You also get automatic high-beam headlights and Road Sign Assist, which can recognize speed limit signs, stop signs, yield signs, and others and then display them as icons in the instrument cluster.
The GR Corolla also features 10 airbags, a rear camera monitor, electronic traction and stability control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic detection, and a tire-pressure monitor.
The Core rolls on 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 high-performance summer tires. The Core’s interior features fabric-covered manually adjustable sport seats, one-touch up/down power windows, a 60/40-split folding rear seat with a center armrest, aluminum sport pedals, automatic climate control, and a GR leather-trimmed tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The driver enjoys a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a speedometer, tachometer, turbo pressure gauge, and gear selection indicator.
For infotainment, the GR Corolla Core touts an 8-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
