Toyota has finally given us an all-new Tacoma ready to take on the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon. The new Tacoma (affectionately called “Taco” by its ardent fans) is wider and more powerful than the outgoing truck, with three variations on its turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The base SR gets a 228-horsepower version, while the SR5, some TRD trims, and the Limited get a more powerful i-Force version of the same engine good for 278 hp (270 when equipped with the 6-speed manual). The top-line TRD Pro and Trailhunter get a hybrid i-Force Max powertrain good for 326 hp and a class-leading 465 lb-ft of torque.
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma now offers eight trims, including an all-new Trailhunter designed for overlanding in rough terrain. Depending on the model, there are two cab sizes and two bed lengths. Lower trims ride on rear leaf springs, while a coil spring rear suspension is offered on others.
Let’s dig a little deeper and see which 2024 Toyota Tacoma best fits your needs.
