The 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer puts a different spin on the subcompact SUV, with an upscale look mimicking the larger Blazer and several trims covering a wide range of pricing and consumer tastes.
GM equips the Trailblazer with an upscale interior, a healthy helping of safety equipment, and two engine choices. Powering the front-wheel-drive LS and LT trims is an E85-compatible 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower and hooked to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
A 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine good for 155 hp is optional on the LS and LT and standard on the Activ, RS, and all-wheel drive (AWD) models. When equipped with AWD, a 9-speed automatic transmission replaces the CVT.
The Trailblazer competes head-on with several equally attractive subcompacts, including the Nissan Kicks, Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Hyundai Kona.
What’s New:
The 1.2-liter engine is now E85 compatible. A new color, Marina Blue Metallic, is added, while deleted colors include Copper Harbor, Fountain Blue, and the Summit White roof option.

Pound for pound, the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer LT provides the best bang for your buck. It also offers the slightly more powerful 1.3-liter turbo engine and options like the Driver Confidence Package and adaptive cruise control, which we also recommend.

The least expensive LS trim is also the least equipped. It seems aimed at buyers looking for the lowest price and uninterested in costly upgrades. That’s not to say LS buyers must sacrifice comfort or safety, as the lengthy list of standard equipment listed below proves.
Power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and numerous safety features are standard on the LS.
Chevrolet’s Safety Assist suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for cars and pedestrians, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights.
Additional safety equipment counts full airbag coverage, including front seat knee airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Teen Driver, which lets parents set limits on certain features and guides young drivers toward better driving habits.
The LS rides on handsome 17-inch alloy wheels and features auto on/off LED headlights, power mirrors, and a rear wiper/washer.
