Based on sports and racing cars like the Lotus 49, Lotus Seven, Lotus Eleven, Lotus Europa and several others, Lotus has earned such a strong reputation for how its cars handle that other carmakers sometimes collaborate with Lotus to improve how their own cars drive. Some of these include Aston, Ford, Jaguar, Isuzu, Nissan, Opel, Tesla and Toyota.
