RAM is a brand that has only been around since 2011, but then again it's been around for about a century. RAM is essentially Dodge trucks under a new name. First, the Dodge RAM was a semi-popular pickup. Today, the RAM's head that used to appear on many Dodge vehicles is now exclusive to RAM trucks. While the “RAM” name might be synonymous with pickup trucks, there’s a little more to the brand than just pickups.
The brand also produces commercial vans in its ProMaster line which offers the only front-wheel drive full-size commercial van and a compact city van called the ProMaster City for smaller, lighter jobs. RAM is a leader in pickup trucks with its excellent 1500 model which offers an innovative eTorque system that both saves fuel and improves torque. That truck is becoming increasingly popular, frequently rivaling Chevrolet for total truck sales in a given year. For heavier lifting, RAM also offers heavy-duty trucks that can conquer just about any job you throw at it and can have a blast off-road with the Power Wagon model. If there’s work to be done, RAM can answer the call. Although it’s not an acronym, “RAM” has the name in all capital letter to emphasize the brand’s boldness.
