Building upon the success of the Evo VIII, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX features minor changes compared to its predecessor. The 5-speed manual transmission features closer ratios to stay within the optimal RPM range for better acceleration. 

Model Updates: For better or for worse, the Evo IX was only available in the United States for one model year, and no updates were made during the ninth generation. The limited production run makes an Evo IX tougher to find than the Evo VIII, which was produced for three years, and the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/mitsubishi/lancer-evolution?endYear=2015&amp;startYear=2008">Evo X</a>, which had the longest run of the Evo models at eight years.
