When the versatile Ford Flex debuted in <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/car-reviews/2009-ford-flex-used-car-review-235648" target="_blank">2009</a> with its boxy style, it was the successor to the <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/ford/freestar" target="_blank">Ford Freestar minivan</a> even though the Flex isn't technically a minivan, but it isn't a SUV either although it does come in an <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/awd-4wd/ford/flex" target="_blank">all-wheel-drive version</a>. With seating up to 7 passengers, the Flex stands out for its expansive and roomy interior thanks in part to its unconventional styling. The second and third row seats fold down, making the Flex an excellent family vehicle well-capable of handling long road trips or hauling kids to their various practices and/or games. There is an option for 2nd-row captain chairs as well. The 287-horsepower V6 engine and the 6-speed automatic transmission delivery a smooth, car-like ride while earning approximately 17-23 mpg in fuel economy. Traction/stability control and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are standard on all versions of the Flex.
